Isaac

"Run!" Dana shreiks.
But, of course we already were. I felt as if my legs would fall off and if I listened hard enough I could hear him running right behind me. I push myself to run faster. How we could out run a vampire, I did not know. Maybe he didn't really want to catch us. I know if he really did, we'd all be dead by now. Isaac is one of the oldest vampires alive, according to the books, and for some reason the man wants me dead.
"I think we lost him!" Ida calls out from somewhere over to my left.
"Yeah, me too!" I yell back. Dispite my words I could still feel him watching me. Weither it was just my imagination or not, it was still creepy. It wasn't untill the silence started to annoy me that I realized, I had no idea where Nikki was.
"Uh, guys, where's Nik?" I asked, looking around frantically. I'd kill that man if he had my best friend.
"NIKKI?!" Dana's shreik nearly caused me to go deaf.
"Yeah?" Nikki's voice echoed as she yelled back, "I'm over here!"
"Where's here, bro?" I call, I couldn't help, but smile with relief. My best friend was okay.
"Right here." She laughs from beside me. I jump and then glare at her.
"Can we just go home now?" I grumble, I hate the dark. I hate it with a great passion.
"We can't." Dana says, she has her serious face on, so she must be up to something.
"Why not?" I ask, slowly, eyeing her in suspicion. Ida huddles closer to our litte pack so she could her while Nikki just stares at Dayday as if she were crazy.
"Because, he probably knows where we live. We need someone to help us get rid of him," She mumbles as if it were that simple, "And, I know just the person to help us find someone for that job." She grins.
"Yeah, and who's that?" I roll my eyes. She was right though, we did need help and I knew just the person we needed, but unfortunately he's dead.
"You. Duh," She says with an exagerated eye roll that made me think her eyes would fall out of their sockets, "You like to read about vampires. Who could we get to help?"
"I don't know! The only person I know that would help is dead and-" My rant was cut off as Dayday made up her mind.
"Then we'll Awaken him." She concludes.
I stare at her like she'd just given me a giant lollipop, "Really?"
"Um, yeah. I'd really rather not be killed by this vampire guy." She mutters.
Ever sense I had started to read about vampires, werewolves, and even witches I had wanted to Awaken one, but Dana had always told me it was too dangerous. I guess now she realizes we might as well take a chance.
"Tell me about this guy," Nikki says, suddenly, "I'm not going to Awaken a guy that's going to kill me!"
"He wouldn't kill you!" I scoff, "He's kinda like Edward, you know, off of Twilight? Except he's cooler and has fangs. His name is Cameron and he's hunted vampires for centuries and he died about a hundred years ago." I nod while they stare at me as they were just realizing I was a nerd.
"Okay," Dana draws the word out and shakes her head, "Where is this guy?"
I laugh, "Yeah. About that, he's in a tomb in a cemetery in Missippi. I forget the name, it's really weird."
"Well, we need to find out the name and come up with something to tell our parents." Dana growls.
"We could tell them that we're all going to Nikki's house and then Nikki could say she's going to Des' house for the weekend." Ida sugests with a shrug.
"Yeah. We'll all go home pack and then meet at the park, okay?" Dana mumbles just as we reach the edge of the woods.
We all mumble 'okay' as we walk out into the light of the street.
"Where are we?" Ida asks, wide eyed.
"Erm. It looks like a couple streets over from where we parked at the park." I kick a rock for no apparent reason.
"We go that way, right?" Dana asks. I look up to see them all staring at the nerd in the group. Dana points straight ahead.
"I dunno! Jezus, I don't know everything!" I scoff, but start off in the direction she'd pointed.

The Park

"Be careful." My mom says as I climb out of the car.
"'Kay." I mutter and start to walk in the direction of Nikki's house. My mom backs out of the driveway and dissapears around the corner. I turn and start walking in the direction of the park. Pulling my jacket tighter around me, I looking around to make sure a creepy vampire wasn't following me. Yeah, I know I'm paranoid.
Hurrying along the sidewalk, I hear the dead leaves crunching behind me. Whirling around, I find nothing behind me, but the empty street. Already more than slightly creeped out, I shuffle along faster.

"Hey." Nikki grins, "We're still waiting on Dayday." She says, tilting her head back to look up at me from her perch on the swing. "Ida's trying to hide from you."
"Psssh." I snort, "Yeah. Try to hide from me and end up being eaten by one of our many fanged friends." I grumble sarcastically.
"Friends?" Ida scoffs, crawlling out of her hidding spot behind a tree. "Did you not see what that guy tried to do to us?" Her voice rises as she speaks.
"I was being sarcastic, Iduur." I roll my eyes.
"Well, not all vampires are like that, right?" Nikki says, "That Cody guy isn't, right?" I could tell she was nervous; I was too. I've never Awakened a vampire before. What if he went crazy and killed us all? What if we accidentally Awakened the wrong person?
"Cameron." I correct her, "And, no. Not all vampires are that way and Cameron isn't that way. I hope." I mumbled the last part so low I don't think they heard me.
"Do you guys hear that?" Ida asks.
"Yeah, I think it's just a car." I mumble, looking down the street in the direction I thought the noise was coming from.
A big white truck stops at the curve and the passenger door opens. I couldn't see who it was getting out, but I hoped and prayed it wasn't Isaac or any of his weird minions. Dana steps into view at the front of the truck, towing her big sack of witchy things with her.
I could hear Nikki sigh with relief.
"Hey." Dana smiles as she reaches us, "You guys ready?"
"Yep." I grin, practically bouncing where I stand.
"Did you bring your car, Ida?" Dana asks, sitting down on the picnik table beside the swings.
"Yeah, I parked down the road, so I could hide from Des. My plan failed, because someone," She glares at Nikki, "Gave me away."
Dana snorts and shakes her head, "Des, did you bring the book?"
"Indeed, I did, Bro." I nod.
There was a long silence and I knew they were thinking the same thing I was.
"Can we go now? My butt's cold." Nikki complains, breaking the silence.
Ida starts to lead the way to her car, "So, we're really going to Missippi?" She asks, kicking a rock.
"Yep, Natchez National Cemetery." I sigh, "I hate cemeteries. They're creepy."
"I know right?" Nikki says, looping her arm through mine as we skip in pairs the rest of the way to the car. Yeah, I know we're weird, but normal is just boring.
