Splat! Ugh, that was about the tenth ice cream cone that came crashing down the table at which I was sitting at. Don’t they know that I am human with feelings? They probably did not since the only thing that mattered in their life was the Supremes. The Supremes were a group of five girls who ruled the school just by looking pretty. Pretty stupid. It is probably the clothes they wore that made them so gorgeous. All their clothes were designer made and accessories too. Cassie Lauden (Me) probably did not exist in their world. I was just one of the losers that they constantly picked on without a single regret of what could ever happen if I ever became popular. Whatever, one-day things will change, I repeated repeatedly in my head, but I knew that it was in my imagination to ever think that I could ever be somebody. The Supremes were the all mighty goddesses of the school and there was nothing that could change that. Not even if the president of the United States came, the Supremes would still do what they do: be mean, shop until they drop (hopefully), and talk to their boyfriends. I am just one of the people who look at them, sigh, and then wish I could be a part of them.
I shook my head of the thought of being a Supreme and slowly turned around to go to class. As soon I turned, the first thing I saw was these black Jimmy Shoo pumps and white stockings. I slowly lifted my head to see Supreme #1 looking at me with a total disgust. She was Amanda White, the one everyone adored to be around. She wore DKNY capris with a Speechless Kimono Dress and Louis Vuitton handbag with the smell of Chanel No.5 all over her. She looked liked she just stepped out of a fashion show though, and that fashion show was her house. Sometimes people wondered did she have more than one room to fit all her clothes in because every day to school, she looked like she just went shopping before she went to school. On her left was Supreme #2. Jennifer Mittone; a French beauty that all the people adored and every time she spoke, you would hear her sweet French accent lingering in your ears. It was impossible to hate her. Even though she was to-hutally mean, she looked to sweet to mean. Though she was Supreme #2, she still looked better than Amanda did. She probably just chose to be #2. She wore a Monrow vintage black jersey golden scales scoopneck tank with Green Envelope cropped bomber jacket, a pair Diesel skinny jean, and a pair of Miu Miu blue glitter flats. It did not really match but it still looked good on her. She had an Invicta Women's Square Angel Diamond Stail watch with a Furla handbag on her shoulder. I sat there looking at both of them while they looked at me as if I was a bug that needed to be crushed immediately. Amanda brushed her blond hair away from her face and sighed.
“Hello? Yeah, you’re in our spot,” said Amanda. She had her manicured finger pointing at my face.
“Your name isn’t written on it.” I mumbled softly hoping that she did not hear.
“Excuse me, I didn’t hear quite well. Get out of our seat. Now.”
“I was going to get out anyway.”
“Good, ‘cause if you didn’t I would have to get another manicure because they would be covered with a never before washed skin.”
Everyone around us started laughing at me because of her smart remark. I bit the bottom of my lip to stop from crying, which effectively worked. I draped my orange Jansport backpack over my shoulders and walked out of the cafeteria with two of the Supremes looking at me while I walked out shamelessly. I felt so stupid for not knowing that I was sitting at their table. It probably was not their table anyway; they just wanted an excuse for making fun of me.
“Wait!” yelled Amanda. This could have been it! They would have finally wish and me sorry then ask could I could join their group and buy clothes for me! I turned around to see what the precious Supremes wanted.
“This table is filthy dirty. Clean your mess up.”
“I didn’t put those ice creams there!” I yelled then put my hand over my mouth knowing that I probably would end up regretting what I said. Her eyes squinted at me as she walked closer to me. Before I knew it, I saw her standing right above me, glaring at me with her sky blue eyes then opened her mouth.
“I said clean. Up. Your STUPID MESS!”
Ok, ok. I’m sorry.” I said tearfully. I felt like my mother was punishing me. I hated myself so much for letting her take control of me like that. I wiped the tears of my cheeks and took out a napkin and wiped the ice cream off the table then threw the ice cream in garbage along with the napkin.
“There. I’m done.” I sniffled softly.
“Eww. It stinks here. Let’s go Jennifer.”
“Wait, wait.” I said abruptly. “What about the table that I just cleaned?”
“It stinks.”
“But what about-”
“I said it stinks. Conversation over.” Amanda snapped. She turned around and head out to the outdoor lunch tables which were much cleaner than the inside ones. I just stood there while the girls just ignored my good deed without even a thank you. Kids in the lunchroom looked at me as if I was stupid while whispering or gossiping to their friends about me. I just turned around again to head the hall until I saw Supreme #3, 4, 5 push their way past me to go outside where Amanda and Jennifer where. Supreme #3 was Addison Richmond. The only reason why she was special in the group was that her father opened a huge website last year, which made her awesomely rich. Her mother was physiologist with a huge office that right next to a movie theater. People did not really like that movie theater because she constantly stood outside staring at everybody who came in. Supreme #4, which was Cara Vunint, on the other hand came from a history of dancer, singers, and musicians. Her father is a famous painter, her mom is an international singer, and it seemed as if she was going on the same track because I’ve been seeing her on the cover of Seventeen recently. She looked very well fit for the camera with her rosy cheeks, sea green eyes and slim figure. Supreme #5, Tiffany Weffer was a bit different from the others. She lived in a fortress deep in the woods and always took a plane there. It was that far. Though she was a Supreme, she was the only one that did not look like she was going to go to a fashion show. She wore a marigold cotton deep v-neck t-shirt with a czar stretch destruction wash skinny jeans and a pair of Lace Up open booties. She looked normal, but under those shirts and jeans are three or four digit prices. Not cheap. The other two were Amanda wannabes. Whatever Amanda wore, they had to wear something that was similar to it. Addison wore BCBGMAXAZRIA pink paint stripe jersey cutout top with a Romeo & Juliet Couture black studded stretch mini skirt and a pair of Miu Miu black nappa studded fringe bow flats with Gucci sunglasses. Cara wore a Corey Lynn Calter heather grey sequin jersey 'Dede' racerback tank with Sunner black silk smocked shorts and Prada pumps. Brylee and Addison both had handbags and tried to walk bow-legged like Amanda instead came out looking like chickens. I thought about my red frizzy hair that lived for scrunchies and looked at theirs. The Supremes are so perfect. They each had beautiful hair. Tiffany had a brown straight hair, Cara had a jet-black hair that was spiky at the ends; Addison had brown curly hair that never seemed to touch a scrunchie, and Jennifer’s hair was black with brown highlights and was curly, and to top it off, Amanda, with her wavy blond hair that always bounced on her shoulders. Why was it I that looked ugly as ever? It annoyed me to know that everybody else in my family had black or brown hair and it was me that had to be cursed with a delusional red hair that never stayed down. I just wished that I could look like them, or at least be one of them for Pete’s sake! That just could not happen.
I slowly headed out the lunchroom when I accidently bumped into a boy. I look at this boy and every part of my body tingled and melted. He had a shaggy brown hair that was and long and he was wearing an ash cotton top with jeans and Gola sneakers. He was so hot. He looked at me with a boyish smile then ran his hand through his hair.
“Hi.” He said softly. His voice was so soft, but firm. I like.
“Hey” I replied. He was so gorgeous. I gazed at him for a long time imagining us together in a paradise swimming. As soon as he cleared his throat, my daydream went away into the clouds of my thoughts.
“Uhmmm, do I know you of such sort?” He said while squinting his eyes. Gosh, he was so gorgeous. Why have I never seen this beauty before? Every hot guy in the school was all over my wall, except for this mysteriously handsome person.
“What is your name?” I said tentatively.
“Vincent. Vincent Wilterdon. Yours ?”
“Cassie. Cassie Lauden. Pleasure to meet you.”
“You too. You go to this school?”
“Yeah, sadly.” I said while slumping my head down and remembering what happened during lunch.
“What’s wrong?” he said smoothly. I looked into his eyes noticing that they were deep sea blue. Vincent slowly lifted my chin. I felt like kissing him so badly. Instead, I ended up blabbering about the Supremes, how they ruled, and how much I wanted to be one so bad. I glanced at him and saw him chuckling. I just wish I knew what was so funny about me being paralyzed emotionally by five rulers of the school. He gave a deep breath then took a scrunchie and tied his shaggy hair.
“You complain a lot you know?” he said while looking away into the distance.
“How is that complaining? They constantly taunt me because I do not look like them. How is that complaining?” I answered back looking at him hoping he would look back at me. Then I looked down at my outfit to see if he would look at it too. I was wearing a red V-neck sweater with white jeans on and a pair of glossy white flats. Luckily, they did not get dirty during lunch.
“Do you think you’re ugly?” he asked now looking at me in the eye.
“Well, not rea-
“That’s not the answer I’m looking for.” He said a little bit more serious of a tone.
“No. I do not think I’m ugly” I replied boldly then stood up. He stood up then looked me in the eye.
“Ok then why do you worry about what a bunch of prissy girls think?”
“Because!”
“Because what exactly?”
I thought for a second of what the “because” actually stood for. After a couple of seconds, I said something.
“Because, have you seen them? They are like living Barbie dolls! They get everything!” I said while motioning my hands in the
