I remember my summer nights. The glow of the sun on the blue sea. The ships crossing the waves on the light summer breeze of tommorow. I wish I could hold on to my memories and dream about hot wind on face of a stranger that looked strange to the trees.
I was alone. Here, in this time at this place. Why?
Why is he looking at the trees, I asked myself then.
But the summer was strange, the wind got stronger and the trees started to sound pretty nasty.
The storm, he said to me.
The storm?, I said. What storm, it is summer night and the silver moon is about to come out, there is no way it would be stormy.
But the cloud gathered.
The night got even darker then ever before and strange and I were alone on the beach. Strangly, I wasn't scared. Strangly I thought I knew him but I wasn't... His name was Salongo. He was some sort of traveller. We sat at the closed beach cafe and he told me his story.
His wife was a small fisherman daughter that lived in his village. Salongo saw in her his own image, as he told me with a bright smile, and naturaly they married.
Love is selfish, he said to me as his brown eyes made a move to the sky, even the night is here to make the Earth it's own... The night wants to look only into the dark night. The light vanishes.
I smiled and I looked to the sea.
The waves were coming on the sand and made such nice shapes, suddenly the lightning broke the night and the thunder broke the silence.
The light roars, Salongo said to me. The dark is hurt.
Hurt? Lightning... It is only the beginning of rain.
Rain is tears of dark... The light won.
I didn't agree. But still I listened.
Salongo was seventy years old, he travelled through the world with his stick in his hands living only by his singing.
You must live only from what you love. Only by doing so you will live.
Everybody cannot do that.
Then they live in the dark. Waiting to roar by the pain of light, their forgotten dream.
I listened.
And I understood. In this summer night my life changed. I must do what I love... This night I must live the forgotten dream. And the rain broke the change. And I ran to the beach to dance on the rain, free. And Salongo sang the song of the tree.
The song of me.
He said I was a tree, deep in the Earth my roots are waiting to come and enjoy the light... On the summer night I dance the dream... I dance... And dream at the same time... Forever. And I write... I and you. Forever, Salongo.
