Chapter One

I was outside the Dorm that we saw Vasilisa and Rosemarie enter. The window was wide open. I was Rose shaking the Princess, for the Princess was screaming in her sleep.
Rose was trying to comfort her. Then, I was the most utterly disgusting thing in my life. Rose fed

her.
Vasilisa left the room, and Rose came over to the window. I tried to hide better, but it was no use trying to hide from someone with heightened senses.
She ran out the door. I knew they were going to try their escape. I hid by the door, waiting for them to run out it. When they did, I followed them.
They were running towards their friend's car. Alberta, and the other guardians were already waiting for them to come to the car.
I took a short cut, and got to the car before they did.
"Leave her alone," Rosemarie growled. "Don't touch her." I held up my hands in a non-violent way. In a nice gesture. Not so nice to her, apparently.
"I'm not going to-" I took a step forward, and Rose attacked me. I did what I was trained to do, hitting her, and she flying backwards, until I grabbed her. She didn't need to hit the ground. And just then did I realize that she did not look like her age. Most dhampir's are. But, she was pure beautiful, and yet there was something off about her.
I stared at her neck, and she realized I was. She brought her hand up to her neck, and saw the blood on her fingers. She covered her neck with her long hair.
