DEATH IS HAIKU
The Art of Contemplating the Death
Donβt be afraid of death of body β
beware when heart dies
(Oshio Heihachiro
)
Rising Moon
lights reviving
after the fierce storm
(Takijiro Onishi
)
What is Haiku? Issuing from itβs own form haiku is the shortness/instant
of life. Instantaneousness of an extreme existing. A "trice
" of objective reality before Death. But today we, horrific toilers
, need much
more severe philosophical formulas. Haiku is not
some
"frontier state
" of obsolete existentialism, not
Heidegger's "Sein zum Tode/being-toward-death
", but the Death
Itself! Yes, haiku is
Death
and Death is
Haiku
! Only the haiku/the Pure Death
exceeds vitality
of the very life. Every "speck of dust
", every "tiny drop
" through the haiku/Death
with no mercy brings down any Unshakeable Absolute and Inaccessible Eternity. In other words, haiku is quinta essentia
of the Creating Death! Maximal power of the focus of the unstoppable Will for power. The way of haiku is
the Way of the Creating Death!
The highest point of the Purity of the Spirit... but the Spirit
, which every second
is in a state of unprecedented Self-destruction
β the most severe Break
. Thus, if "a wild eagle is invited to the room of mirrors
" it β without fail!
β will break into smithereens all these "artificial mirror screens
" of human mind and fear. The Spirit of the Heavenly Eagle will severely extirpate
, torment
, tear apart
all "humane, too humane
" just to see its own clear reflection in transparent water: its shining
Face of the Inexorable Will!
This "wild eagle of haiku
" β the most audacious image of Banβya Natsuishi β is that
very mysterious Divine Killer
, which knows from the start:
Every thing will disappear:
even the rice paddy,
over it a white heron dancing
Everything surely will disappear
... In truly way β Learn!
β one can only/just
from the depth of his own [certainly gushing!
] blood, from his
own aggressive
Emptiness
[Void!
] as approaching Absolute Break and Absence:
Sucking in the blue sky
a cicada hole
disappears
Only
Death
may speak so. Death
/Haiku contends that the biggest treachery is the fear and insincerity of haiku
in front of haiku as
Death
. This given initial truth
is most perfectly expressed by inexorable
haiku by
Kanzawa Toko:
verses about death β
is only an illusion:
death is Death
That is for Toko: "Death
is
haiku" β is more initial
than "haiku is
Death
". In every its instant
Life must incessantly, intently
scrutinize in Death
. Like the "zen tiger
" Life is to step
fiercely over "satori
" and "samadhi
" in order to show severely [in a sacral
seclusion!] its last: brave leap in Chasm
. Haiku is
Death
for Death is
Haiku!
Three lines
of haiku are three deadly lightnings
of the Spirit
which violently incinerate
themselves. Because haiku teaches not
to "die" but β to Overtake Death!
Incessantly β like a wounded dragon
of the Will
β move Above
the defeated Heaven; beyond
"equilibriums", "piers" and any "traces"...
Death
is
haiku for haiku is
Death!
Only such a statement
/Knowledge of the Mystery of Death
lets the dark
Tao
and the Great Emptiness of Nothing shudder gladly. Nothing to Power
as might of invisible resistance
of different forms of life/"little emptinesses
" in a real, true haiku
appears as Triumph of the Will to Superiority of Absence
. Haiku/Death
secretly teaches
: approaches the Great Emptiness to Supremacy! The truth of any ancient poetry
is invariable: "Werdet hart
" β become
hard!
Itβs time to cast
away resolutely any
manifestations of "human
fear
". From own Great Emptiness all wishes of "I
" and longings of pitiful human "being
" are must be ruthlessly severed
. Literally it is necessary
to become
an aloof kamikaze of the word
, that is
β to strike
with images
of Death rapidly
out from contemplating action
of Power!
According to these
cruel demands
it is clear that it is not
world-wide avowed bygone masters [haizins
] were considered to be dazzling heights
of the Spirit of haiku but unknown ancient
samurais
, who left only
to Noone
simple three-lines
before their final bloody harakiri
. And also
young fearless kamikaze
who wrote
with blood of the Spirit their farewell haiku
, which always were concluded with the ultimate high perfection
β the Divine Ram Attack! Tenno heika banzai!
Butβ¦ isnβt
it better to feed
the emperor
to hounds
?
Ideally, every haiku
must burn/disappear
right
after it has been written
. Cruelly die
, aloofly being incinerated
with its creator!
Only then the form
of haiku as "already-
not-a form
", literally is Purity! Form of haiku it is not
usual classical formula
5-7-5, but the ratio of extreme
Nothing to maximal
Emptiness and total
Absence. Formula: 0-0-0.
Nothing
β Emptiness
β Absence
. But:
Walking is philosophy's
Best friend β
Voices from the clouds
It is written
so by the legend of the modern haiku Banβya Natsuishi in his book "VOICES FROM THE CLOUDS
". But any "walking
", even "passage
" of God, is a stroll of Death to Death
itself. The voyage of Nonexistence through the "being
" to the Absolute Nonexistence
. Thatβs why
"voices from the clouds
" are in any ways voices of Mishimaβs eirei no koe
/voices of dead heroes. First of all, we
ought to be fearless livings but... as already dead
! Itβs time to consider the "art of haiku
" from the point of view just/only
of the "philosophy of action
" by Wang Yangming, Oshio Heihachiro, Kita Ikki and Yukio Mishima with their sincere fanatical statement:
"knowledge without action is illusion
". Every Pure Heart
must avoid the "humanism of Taisho epoch
". And thatβs why, considering the most antichristian book
by Banβya Natsuishi "Flying Pope
" we should use the most radical Japan Zen
-formula of the emptiness and aloofness: "If you meet Buddha, kill Buddha!
" And then everything immediately
stands in order, exactly, breaks loose
from their places and shatters around:
His heart stopped,
the Pope flying
in the dark red sky
This "flying in the dark red sky
" is really a Key of the Spirit
to every living and dead. If the haiku poet is not
a kamikaze then he is not
a haiku poet. This is right
: his haiku with its deceitful presence
betrays Absence as the Purity of Eternal Nonexistence
. Elapsing with blood but swiftly
Flying Pope along
with Crawling Buddha must recover their sights at last:
If you meet
yourself,
kill
yourself!
No-self!
Now that even the very
"extreme nihilism
" is in decadence state only haiku/Death
can become, like a revolver shot
, pure
and effective
manifesto of Nothing to Power. "By Absence
of any humane
such knowledge can be reached" [Oshio Heihachiro]. Only haiku/Death
can give us the Needed Might to stand up in the Emptiness against
the Emptiness through the same
Emptiness
; here I mean the most perfect weapon
of the Will β Emptiness to Supremacy
! In silence, without fear and trepidation, we
must sternly meet red "A Future Waterfall
", the bloody metaphor
of which conceals only one thing β coming forth
Absolute Break of the Spirit!
If you meet Emptiness, kill
Emptiness! β
Emptiness to Supremacy!
If you meet Nothing, kill
Nothing! β
Nothing to Power!
Summa Summarum
: the real poet of haiku
always lends an attentive ear to eirei no koe
/voices of dead heroes. His haikus
are even more
"for no one
" than even brave canticles of nietzschean Zarathustra
. His Bible of Power
is "The Hagakure Kikigaki
"!
Thatβs why from the point of view of the Truth of Break of the Spirit it is seen that it is not
some skillful three-lines
of Basho or Issa will always top Japanese haiku
, but wise, sincere and courageous verses of Takijiro Onishi
β the stern founder of
"Kamikaze tokkotai ei
/ The Formation of Kamikaze Special Attack Force":
In blossom today, then scattered:
life is so like a delicate flower.
how can one expect the fragrance to last for ever?
