flame which had brought him face to face with the hideous creature was now only alight within the creatures eyes. The initial flame had extinguished completely and the creature now wore a grin. Andrew felt scared now more than he ever had before and he did everything he could think of to try to wake himself up, to break free from the darkness: forcing his eyes open, jolting upright from his laying position in bed. Some of these had worked before when he felt to deep into the darkness, but this time it was all in vain. He was trapped, and he knew it too. The creature then began walking toward Andrew directly, which he expected. The fierce intent on its face telling. Then, truly to Andrew's complete surprise, it spoke its only five words...

“Welcome to the darkness, Andrew.” Then the creature finally blinked and the room went completely black, and for just the few moments it took for the creature to close the distance between them, Andrew could see the two small flames still imprinted in his eyelids.
