Dear Arizona,
I know this sounds weird, but i hate summer! Don't get me wrong. I love the on-homework and the sleeping-in parts . Its the heat I cant stand! It gets so hot her in Florida that you cant even swim in the swimming pool with out getting hot.How can I convince my parents that we should move to Alaska?
-Oliver

Dear Oliver,
Note to make the opposite problem. I live in San Francisco, where summer days can actually be cold and foggy! Those are the days when I beg MY parents to move our family to Hawaii. But I know what you mean about getting too hot! My best friend, Zack and I went to camp for a week in a part of California that gets really(did i say really?)REALLY hot!
"Now this is what i am talking about!"Zack said, floating in the clear blue swimming pool."Yeah, this is summer living!" I said in between underwater flips."OK, pool party's over!" shouted are camp counselor, peanut butter.(In case you are wondering all are camp counselors have wacky nick names.)"Its time time for are camp scavenger hunt." Zack and I got changed as fast as we can and ran to the main cabin to pick up our scavenger hunt list. Then, before peanut butter blew his whistle,Zack started ruining to the mess hall."Slow down!"I said panting."He didn't even tell us to go yet."Why are we going this way?'asked Parker, are third kid in are group."Because the first thing in the list is a Popsicle stick,"said Zack running faster."The mess hall is the obvious place!" But the mess hall clear across camp, and when we finally got there, there wasn't a Popsicle stick to be found."The art, cabin we made picture frames out of Popsicle stick yesterday!" said Parker. The good thing was, Parker was right. There were Zillions of Popsicle sticks in the art cabin-all the way back where we'd started in the first place! The bad news was, the nice hot hot sun was turning in into the not-so-nice BURNING-HOT sun! After all that running. I was exhausted and thirsty."The next thing on are list is a pinecone,"said Zack "That's tree down by the rock-climbing wall, I am pretty sure there are some!said Parker."Lets go!"said Zack."NO way!"
I Shouted plopping onto the ground and still breathing hard."Its too hot!I cant take a another step." "Come we can win this."said Zack."I don't care about winning,"I groaned, still panting. "I care about the fact that my heart feels like a jackhammer and my head is dizzy." Zack looked at Parker and Parker looked at Zack, and what do they do? They left me! I'm not kidding they left me! There i was, shivering into a sad little raisin, and there they were leaving me so they can win there silly little game. I didn't know Parker all that well, but Zack is my best-ever friend in the world? I counted believe it. How could he just abandon me like that? What a ... he was being I thought mine things to say to him later, he came back!
He was carrying a sports drink in one hand and a big umbrella in the other one. Parker was there to with a first aid-kite.And peanut butter not PEANUT BUTTER peanut butter, my camp counselor!"Sounds like you mite be a little dehydrated,"said peanut butter.Zack and Parker sat up the umbrella for shade, and gave me a sipped of water from the sports drink."Thanks you guys,I am sorry we lost the game.""We don't care."said Parker."Yeah were just glade your OK.""That's right Arizona when you feel better we can go you to the mess hall were every one is and have some chocolates smoothies." So see what i mean, dear Oliver? I really DO know what it means to want to move to Alaska. But if you can't go ice-skating with the penguins be sure ti keep plenty of water and shade nearby. And chocolate smoothies don't hurt, either!
