“I always miss the fun.” Hekate leaned back against the opening we’d come through. An action that resulted in a shrill sound that seemed to echo throughout the pyramid.
“Shit,” Goldi said, turning to Hekate and frowning. “What’d you do?”
Hekate turned, took a step forward and cursed. The entrance was now flashing red. Checking her magic, her eyebrows raised, she said, “But I think we’re almost there, it’s extremely bright now, so…”
She indicated the far wall, where a series of rotating devices gave the impression of a room that could operate as she started spinning them, checking for patterns again and looking at what I now saw to be old runes or some sort of hieroglyphs along the metal lines between bricks.
The sex stories started up again, this time Goldi talking about how she liked one of her bears whose tongue could work wonders. Hekate squirmed, and Elisa sat there with an amused expression, eyes moving to me once.
In fact, the story was making me want to bury my face in Elisa’s pussy right then and there, and if not for the looming danger, I definitely would have.
“Through,” Goldi said, opening the final lock. Sure enough, the door slid open. Only, on the other side was nothing but an empty room. “What the hell is this?”
“It’s showing that she’s here,” Hekate said.
“She?” I asked.
Hekate looked at me with a playful smile, nodded, and stepped forward. She lifted the golden feather and started a chant, moving her other hand along the wall.
“If we came all this way for a faulty spell…” Goldi said, voice not even bothering to hide her irritation.
“Trust me, we didn’t,” Hekate replied, not stopping in her inspection.
“But that’s the problem, isn’t it?” Goldi replied. “I have no reason to trust you.”
“Wrong.” Hekate knelt holding the feather up. “You have no past experience leading you to trust me, but every reason to do so.”
Gold frowned, apparently not sure how to take this, and folded her arms as she watched.
I glanced around, sure I was hearing sounds in the distance, likely of more gods or Shades coming our way. If we didn’t make it out of here, I’d be leaving behind Pucky and the others. We’d barely had a chance to really get to know each other. Me and all of them, really, and Sharon and I had only really just started getting intimate. The idea that it would end there and never with getting a chance to simply go on a date, to spend an evening relaxing without worrying about leveling up or killing gods… it ate at me.
Right there, I swore that if we did make it out of that temple, I’d spend every chance I could getting to know my team, enjoying their company, and not always in a sexual way. Though, knowing them and their appetites, we’d have plenty of that.
The thought caused my eyes to wander to Elisa. She’d knelt, bending over to check for magic in her own way, giving me a nice view of her ass in that blue skirt of hers. A glance back and she smiled, moving her ass back and forth, causing me to blush and find it impossible not to imagine sliding in from behind, hands caressing her back, slapping her ass.
She stood, stepping over to me, and ran a hand to my ass. Leaning in, she whispered, “You can even think of sex in a place like this?”
“With you as company… Anywhere.”
The kiss on my cheek was perfect.
“Ladies and gents,” Hekate said, completing her spell in a way that caused purple light to form the frame of a door. With another wave of her hand, the door swung inward. “I give you the Golden Goose.”
On the other side of that door wasn’t exactly what I’d been expecting, but a woman… kind of. She had womanly characteristics, but with gold skin and feathers. Instead of arms, she had wings of gold, and of course a beak where her mouth should have been. Full breasts, shapely hips, and lady parts downstairs.
To make it even weirder, there were two witches with her as she squatted, giving birth to a golden egg. Is that called ‘giving birth?’ Either way, the egg was coming out of her in a very enticing display.
“What the fuck are you looking at?” the Golden Goose demanded, and the two witches turned in confusion.
“Hekate?” one said, now even more confused. The confusion became even more a moment later, when Hekate stepped in and thrust a glowing white dagger into her throat. No blood came out, only red ichor that Hekate absorbed with a giddy chuckle.
I stepped in to deal with the next witch, sword absorbing her spell and then throwing that magic right back at her the moment I made impact. Black smoke swirled around her, making her rapidly decay until she was dust floating around the ball of ichor that merged with me.
“Oh, fuck,” the Golden Goose said, standing there in shock. Her eyes went to each of us, then landed on me. “A bunch of witches and their perverted friend.”
“What?” I asked, at first confused about the witch’s comment, realizing the illusion was back on. “I wasn’t the only one looking, right? Was I?”
It didn’t matter, because a swooshing sounded behind us and we spun to see that gods were lining up. Three of them arrived first in golden beams, turning on us for the attack. Seeing Persephone there, I had a feeling this wasn’t going to go well.

The first wave of gods to attack must have been some sort of enforcers, standing their ground instead of advancing, and throwing up energy shields straight out of a science fiction flick. A god who I guessed to have been Norse based on his long beard and the axe he was wielding started tracing runes in the sky—runes that in turn started creating floating plates of energy that were forming a prison around us. Another appeared behind him, menacing, and
