“Emery,” he roars, slamming into my pussy one last time as his own orgasm rips through him.
After what feels like an eternity as we both catch our breath, Samuel collapses onto the bed next to me. I fall onto my stomach turning my head to face him. Instead of meeting my gaze he’s staring up at the ceiling.
“All this time you’ve been alive, and I didn’t know. Fuck. Tell me something, were you the one controlling the shipments of the guns to the cargo ship?” I should have known he’d figure that little detail out.
“Demi and I handled getting the shipments prepped but I was never at the cargo ship,” I murmur.
“Fuckin’ hell. I’ve been working with my own damn wife for years and didn’t even know it. You have got to be fuckin’ kidding me,” Samuel growls, rubbing a hand over his face.
Tilting his head in my direction he narrows his eyes. “You’re never leaving me again you got that,” he orders.
“Didn’t want to do it the first time.”
“Well we’re not pulling any more Pirates of the Caribbean bullshit, like those two characters marry each other then don’t fuckin’ see each other for years.” I can’t help but giggle.
“You watched the Pirates of the Caribbean movies?” I ask, astonished that he’d watched them all.
“Unfortunately,” he mutters.
“Why?”
“You fuckin’ know why.”
“No, I don’t.” I did know but I wanted to hear him say it.
“Because you told me the first one was your favorite movie. It was also the first movie we watched together,” he grumbles.
Smiling I lean into him and capture his mouth in a searing kiss while I climb on top of him. We have a lot of time to make up for and what better way to reconnect than right here, right now.
Chapter Eleven
Scorch
It’s been two weeks since that first night with her. Emery got under my skin, scratch that. She’s always been under my skin and I’ve done my best to ignore the feeling. Too bad the moment I saw her in that towel, I couldn’t help myself.
I had to reclaim what rightfully belonged to me.
Fucked up I know but damn if I’ll be sorry for taking back what has been mine for more than ten years. I didn’t intend to continue fuckin’ her all night but after Emery admitted to not being with anyone else, my chest tightened with a pain I hadn’t felt in years. Not since the day I thought I’d buried her.
When we’d left the motel room, I followed her home. I refused to let her out of my sight. What man in his right mind would?
Getting to the clubhouse I was nervous because inside I didn’t know what to expect upon seeing my son for the first time. Sure, I’d have liked to have done this at the house instead but with Emery’s stunt that didn’t happen.
Stepping into the clubhouse I’d barely made it through the door when I stop and stare at a mini version of myself.
The moment he’d seen me Stone ran across the room screaming ‘Dad’ and jumped into my arms. I’d lifted him into mine and held him to me. Meeting Emery’s gaze, I’d seen the tears rolling down her cheeks and couldn’t help myself but pull her to me as well.
I didn’t care if all my brothers were watching quietly. They all knew who she was to me. I’d made no secret of that. All that mattered was for once in my life everything was whole. I had my brothers, my wife, and my kid.
In the heat of the moment I’d made the announcement that Emery was my ol’ lady. I hadn’t planned on it, but it felt right. Still does.
Everyday Emery and Stone came with me to the clubhouse to hang out while I handled business. It’s not always about riding my bike, drinkin’ beer, and fuckin’ bitches. No, I have to make sure all our businesses are running smoothly, because if they’re not that means something’s wrong.
Today is no different.
“Scorch, you able to talk for a minute?” Bane asks, glancing from me to where Emery is sitting on the couch engrossed in her book. It’s what she’s done every day when she’s not doing something with Stone.
Feeling eyes on her, Emery glances up. “Need me to step out of the room?” she asks, closing her book.
“Sorry Em, need to talk to Prez about some shit,” Bane says, giving her a smile. It’s strange seeing him interact with her yet he gives Demi the cold shoulder. Doesn’t help they got off on the wrong foot when my sister in-law drew her Ruger SR45 on him.
“No problem, I need to go see what Stone is up to anyway. I learned a long time ago to never leave him alone with my sister for long. She taught him how to disable a gun for cleaning when he was five,” she states as she gets up off the couch. A pang goes through my chest.
I’m doing my best to not think about missing out on the last ten years. But whenever it’s brought up, I can’t help the anger that simmers deep inside me. I know it wasn’t Emery’s fault. Her and I had a long conversation the day I met Stone. I’d been curious as to how he knew me. She’d told me how many fights her and her father got into when she wanted to contact me.
Doesn’t mean I think she couldn’t have tried harder. Then again, her father is a powerful man.
Nodding at her as she leaves the room, neither Bane nor I speak until the door is closed.
“So, you and the misses seem to be doing good,” he smirks.
“Don’t start. What did you come in here for?”
“Just got a call from Ravage up at the Baltimore charter,” Bane states as he takes a seat in the chair across from my desk.
“About what?” I ask, furrowing my brow.
“Seems they got some
