finally meet you, Emery. Shame we didn’t get to meet years ago,” Ghoul grins reaching his hand out for me to take.

Taking his hand, I’m apprehensive at first. Maybe because I know exactly who he is, but I didn’t know he was my husband's uncle.

“You too, Ghoul,” I smile.

“Promise you I won’t bite. I swear. Well, long as you treat my nephew right,” he chuckles.

“Ghoul, I can promise you this, you try to bite me, and I’ll bite back. But as for my ol’ man you have nothing to worry about,” I laugh.

“Good, now when’s the food gonna be out here. I’m fuckin’ starving here.” I can’t help but laugh as he turns to make his way toward the grills.

“Guess Ghoul likes me,” I say tilting my head up to my husband.

“Yeah, he spoke to you so that’s a good sign,” Scorch chuckles.

Shaking my head, I turn to face him. “I have something to tell you,” I murmur.

“What is it baby?” he asks furrowing his brow.

“I’m pregnant,” I say, putting my hand against my stomach.

Before he can answer, gunshots fill the air and Scorch is on top of me. Yelling orders and screams can be heard around me.

Then my heart stops at the ear-piercing cry of agony.

“No,” I whisper, shoving at Samuels chest to get him to move.

“Angel stop, I need you to stay where you are,” Scorch demands.

“Samuel please I need to get to her. I have to make sure she’s okay,” I cry.

“Emery, you just told me your fuckin’ pregnant. I’ll be damned if I put your life in danger,” he growls.

As I go to respond, the gun fire stops, and Samuel helps me up.

Scanning the area, I don’t find my sister anywhere at least until I hear Bane scream my sister’s name.

I turn to face them and tears well in my eyes.

God no please not again.
