Why couldn’t I simply just keep my mouth shut?
Oh, wait I know.
He’d just givin’ you the most mind-blowing orgasm that sucked out all common sense. Now I’m sitting here in the middle of his bed still completely naked trying to figure out what I should do now.
The ringing of my cell phone pulls me out of my self-pity moment.
Climbing out of the bed I find my jeans to grab my phone.
Turning it so that I can see who it is I see it’s an Unknown number. Swiping my finger across the call on the screen I put it to my ear.
“Hello,” I say with a sense of dread filling me.
“Hola mi vida.” A voice I hadn’t heard in a very long-time sneers. “Did you think I would allow you to be with that hijo de perra. Think again puta.”
Tensing at his words, I move to Samuel’s dresser and grab one of his shirts.
“What do you want Felipe?” I demand.
“You know what I want mi vida and I will do whatever I have to in order to get it. I will kill anyone in my way including that bastardo, you allowed to grow inside your body. Ruining it,” he snaps.
“Leave my son the hell alone,” I grind out as I pull my jeans on.
“Only if you do the one thing that can save him right now. You see, I can see the bastardo right now sitting at a table with another hijo de perra, neither of them the wiser of the sights on them,” he chuckles.
Fuckin’ great. Have the best mind alternating sex ever and everything goes to hell. What’s next Karma you going to let me get shot yet again?
“What do you want me to do?” I won’t let him hurt my son. I’ll die as long as he’s okay.
Scanning Samuel’s room, I find what I’m looking for. I pick up the notepad and pen.
“Ahh, I knew that would get your attention. You are going to walk out the front doors, out the gates. I will be waiting. If you have anyone with you or follow you out, I will shoot your bastardo. I’m giving you five minutes to come to me. Am I understood?”
“Crystal,” I snap as I hang up on him.
Shit. Fuck. Damnit all to fuckin’ hell.
Quickly writing a note. I use the code words I need for Demi and Stone. Right now, I’m thankful to have taught my son to decipher the distress code we’d come up with a long time ago.
I leave the note on the nightstand by Samuel’s knife he’d left behind. Unfortunately, I’m sure Felipe will have me searched. I know if I tried to take that with me or even my Kel-Tec PF-9 that I normally wear in the bra holster I have; it would be taken from me.
No this will have to be played smart. If not, I’ll end up dead for sure this time.
Leaving the note is the best thing I can do to keep from having anything happen to Stone. He’s the most important thing in my life besides his dad.
Opening the door to the room, I take a deep breath and head for the main room. I spot where Stone and Bane are sitting heads hunched over something on the table. Stone moving his finger along the table. I smile like nothing is wrong. Scanning the room, I find my sister sitting at the bar staring daggers toward Bane. I don’t know what’s going on there, but that man has truly gotten on the wrong side of my sister.
Demi’s gaze slides to me for a moment. Not knowing if anyone is watching as I head toward the exit, I give her the slightest shake of the head before stepping through the door.
“Where ya going Emery?” Ram asks, scaring the shit out of me. Glancing in his direction, I take in his stance. One leg cocked against the concrete wall, a cigarette between his fingers, and his shades over his eyes.
“I just needed some fresh air,” I shrug and start to walk away.
“I don’t know what you did to Prez for him to leave the way he did, but I’m warning you now he’s not the same man you married back then. Don’t try to come here and fuck with his head. He’s been through enough,” Ram states throwing the butt of the cigarette away from us.
“What’s going on between Scorch and me is just that, between the two of us. It’s none of your damn business. I’ll tell you this though. I don’t give a flying monkey’s ass if you think he’s not the same man he was back then because I’m not the same woman. We’ve both changed. Both of us carry our own darkness,” I snap before storming off in the direction of the gate.
Who did Ram think he was? I get he wants to look out for his Prez but damnit I’m not the fuckin’ enemy.
Might as well be. He doesn’t know who you really are anymore. None of them in there do except for Demi. But only because she’s my partner in everything we do.
As I make it to the gate, I find Toxin standing there. “Can you open the gate please?” I ask.
“You’re not supposed to be out here. I can't, I'm sorry,” he mutters.
Sighing, I hunch my shoulders and glance behind me to see if Ram or anyone else is outside. I’d hate to have to do this to more than one person. Finding the lot empty and no one around I give Toxin my attention.
“I’m sorry,” I whisper right before lifting my leg in a high roundhouse kick. Connecting with the side of his head he staggers back. With him disoriented, I was able to climb up the gate and jump over to the other side.
Straightening, I run across the
