cops. I gotta go find Emery,” I mutter.

“We got this covered. Call if you need anything,” he says nodding his head. This right here is why Bane is my VP.

Without another word I walk back to my bike, climb on, and pull my phone out. Checking the location of the dot I notice it hasn’t moved anymore and is pretty much right on the other side near the ocean line.

Deciding it would be easier to go after Emery on foot, I follow the dot. Running out of the lot and crossing Route 12, I go up the dunes and my heart begins beating wildly in my chest.

Seeing the rough waves brings back memories of the day I’d sat further down ready to take my life. Deciding to walk along the top of the dunes, I hoped I’d spot her as I keep checking the dot on my phone.

The farther I walk along the dune a loud pain filled scream can be heard over the roaring of the ocean and wind.

Emery.

Taking off at a dead run I come to a stop seeing a figure ahead of me.

“Emery,” I bellow, wanting her to hear me. Only she doesn’t move. I can hear her cries the closer I get and my heart clenches in my chest.

Soon as I’m close enough, I drop to my knees next to her.

“Angel, I’ve got you baby,” I murmur, pulling her into my arms.

“Samuel?” she asks, blinking up at me.

“Yeah Emery. I’m so fuckin’ sorry,” I rasp holding her to me.

“No, I’m sorry. If I’d told you none of this would have happened. You would still love me rather than despising me. I don’t blame you. Hate me all you want. God, I deserve your hatred as long as I still have you in my life. I can’t live without you Sammy. Not anymore. I need you in my life more than I can breathe,” she sobs clenching my wet shirt to her.

“Angel, I don’t fuckin’ hate you. I wanted to but I can’t. You’ve held my heart all these years. I’ll never hate you. You’re my ol’ lady and I’m never letting you go again. I fuckin’ love you woman,” I say firmly lifting her chin to capture her mouth in a heartfelt kiss as the rest of the wall around my heart breaks away.

It’s kind of ironic that the last time I sat on a dune I was ready to end my life because she wasn’t here. Now I’m back here holding the one thing that I could hardly take a breath without.

Chapter Nineteen

Emery

Standing in the midst of the swirling winds, a wave crashes down taking me away. Screaming I suck in nothing but water as hands hold me down, keeping me from coming to the surface.

Opening my eyes, I see both Felipe and Javier. Their hands are the ones holding me down as they laugh. I can hear their evil laugh through the water.

Beyond them I see Scorch running toward me screaming my name, his face filled with pain. Just as he gets close to me his body jerks back blood seeping from his chest.

“No,” I scream, choking on water. My eyes water and I don’t know if it’s from the ocean or the tears filling my eyes.

Just as his body drops, Javier’s cackles can be heard as he points a gun at me. “No one takes from the Alcazars,” he says before pulling the trigger.

Jerking to a sitting position, my breaths come in pants as I clutch my chest.

“Angel,” Scorch murmurs my name gently as he sits up pulling me into his arms. “It’s okay. I’ve got you.”

“It’s not okay,” I sob as I tell him about the dream.

God, I feel like a complete and utter wimp since we got back. The waterworks just won’t stop. I’m scared to be away from Samuel out of fear that my dreams will come true. That I’ll lose him. This can’t be happening.

I’m not this person. I hate feeling like I’m clinging to him and it will push him away. I only just got him back.

“Emery, baby it was just a dream. I’m right here. Whole and in one piece. You don’t need to worry about those two ever again. You’re mine and I’ll never let you go.” Scorch says lifting my chin so that I meet his gaze.

“What if something happens? I don’t know if I could handle losing you. Not again,” I murmur.

“I promise you this Angel, I might not be invincible, but I’ll never stop fighting to be with you. I will always fight to stay with you.” Leaning down he captures my lips, kissing me gently.

Laying me down on the bed he continues to kiss me while his hands roam my body. Since the other day we hadn’t had sex and maybe this is what I need to start feeling like myself again. Lifting a hand to the back of his neck, I pull him closer, deepening the kiss between the two of us.

Groaning into my mouth he spurs me on to use my free hand to wrap my fingers around him. I begin to stroke him slowly as he cups me between my legs.

Breaking the kiss, I push him to his back and slide down his body kissing his skin as I go. When I come face to dick with him, I suck him deep to the back of my throat.

“Fuck Angel,” he groans, gripping my hair.

I continue to take him as far as I can while moving a hand to massage his balls. When I swallow him once more all the way, Samuel pulls me off of him and throws me to my back. Before I know what’s happening, he sinks deep inside me. Thrusting deep, with each stroke I want to cry out as I come closer to my orgasm, but Samuel has other ideas by slamming his mouth down on mine.

Reaching between us, Samuel flicks at my clit and all I see behind my
