good thing goin’ here. You’d be on your knees, suckin’ my cock and I’d be lickin’ your pussy every chance I got. Instead, you want to prove a point.”

My legs clench together at his words, and the visualization that comes with them.

“Tell me this,” I say, leaning forward and letting my breasts bulge out. “How could I suck your cock if you have made it clear I can’t give you a boner?”

“You could give me a boner with your mouth, fuck, the ugliest bitch down the street could give me a boner with her mouth. That ain’t hard to do.”

“Wow, you’re really boosting my self-esteem.”

“You started this fuckin’ game, now you live with it. You can’t live with the fact that you’re not my type.”

“I still think you’re lying.”

“I’m not.”

“You are.”

“Why the fuck would I lie?”

“Because I’ve seen the way you look at me, and the words you’ve said when I’ve been hurt. You don’t seem like the type that would say those things if you couldn’t stand me.”

“Never said I couldn’t stand you. At the start, I couldn’t. Now, I think you’re okay. You work. You’re a good chick. Don’t make you my type.”

“And, dare I ask, what is your type?”

“Blond, big tits, big ass, big lips.”

“Nothing in there about personality I see,” I mutter.

“I fuck women, I don’t marry them. I won’t marry them. Personality means shit to me.”

I shake my head. “You’re going to fuck women for the rest of your life, is that your plan?”

“One hundred percent.”

“Why?”

“What you fuckin’ mean why?” he growls.

“Why are you so determined to only be a sex object. Don’t you want to settle down, fall in love and get married, or at least have a family? Surely you don’t want to plough through random pussy for the rest of your days?”

“That’s exactly what I want to do. Are we done here? You’ve failed yet again, so go and get fuckin’ dressed. We’ve got shit to do.”

Oh.

He thinks I’ve failed.

I haven’t even tried yet.

Not really.

Dressing in sexy outfits and sucking on a lollipop is just enough to agitate him, and it worked.

Now. Oh, now, I’ll drive him crazy.

“Whatever you say, Master.”

I leap off the counter and saunter away, and I know he’s looking, even if he doesn’t want to admit it to himself.

I get changed and then call to him for bandage change. I’m doing them twice a day at the moment because I noticed a redness in one of his arms, only slight, but I’m worried about infection. When Riggs dressed it, he didn’t do it properly and, because of that, something seems to have gotten in there. I’ll be horrified if he gets an infection because of my lack of care.

I unravel the bandage and see fluid on it. Immediately, my stomach plummets. “Have you been feeling any pain in this hand?” I ask.

“No.”

I keep unravelling, and when the bandage is off, I can see that he most certainly does have an infection. From when I changed them last night to this morning, it has gotten redder with a lot more ooze. God dammit. I’m going to have to call Daniel, even though I really don’t want to.

My heart jumps into my throat.

“I have to call Daniel,” I say, reaching for my phone.

“Why, just wash it and wrap it,” Adan orders.

“Adan, your arm is infected. That is a really bad thing, especially considering the extent of your damage. If it goes on, you’ll end up sick and possibly back under the knife.”

“Just clean it, Ramona.”

I look at him. “No,” I say, my voice firm. “No, I’m going to do my job and you’re going to have to deal with it.”

I dial Daniel.

“Ramona, lovely to hear from you.”

“Hi, Daniel, sorry to bother you but this morning when I changed Adan’s bandages, I can see an infection in one spot on his right arm. It’s progressed quite quickly and I’m not sure I want to go any further until you’ve treated it. I know it’s the weekend but ...”

“I’ll be right out.”

“Thank you.”

I look to Adan as I place the phone down. “Daniel is coming over.”

“Fuck me, why?”

“You know why.”

“I don’t need more shit, I’m fine.”

“You’re not fine.”

“Fuck, Ramona, I am,” he barks.

I glare at him. “Don’t mess with me, Adan. I swear to god I’m not going to take it. Do you want to spend longer in these bandages? Do you?”

“No,” he growls.

“Then shut the hell up and do as you’re told. Capiche?”

He clamps his mouth shut, but the glare he gives me is deadly.

Daniel arrives half an hour later with a little bag of goodies in his case. He walks over and gives me a smile that makes Adan shake his head and mutter something under his breath.

“How are you, Adan?” Daniel asks, putting on some gloves before taking Adan’s arm and beginning to inspect it.

Daniel specializes in burns, so at least he knows what he’s looking for.

He’s a good doctor and a great surgeon, I can’t fault him there. He has been excellent with Adan’s aftercare.

“You were right to call me, Ramona. This is indeed an infection.”

“So she hasn’t been doin’ her fuckin’ job properly then?” Adan mutters.

Ouch.

That does hurt.

Because it’s what I fear.

“Absolutely not,” Daniel says, his voice harsher than I’ve ever heard. He looks to Adan with a stern face. “Ramona has been doing a fantastic job. These wounds are cleaner than most I’ve seen, but she’s not able to remove every single bit of bacteria, and that’s all it takes. It’s common, more so than you think. We’ll treat it and hope it doesn’t spread further. If it does, we may have to operate again.”

“No,” Adan snaps.

“Just shut up,” I say to him. “For once in your life, do as you’re damned told.”

Daniel’s mouth twitches.

“You’ve done a great job getting onto this early, Ramona,” Daniel says as he prepares to clean Adan’s arm and treat him. “These can be very dangerous if left too long, burns especially. I’ve heard of patients dying, you’ve done the right
