She strolls, cautiously next aisle afteraisle as her mind empties of new ideas. She returns to clothingsection & scans fabrics.

Her height is the second major problem. She’s5 feet, 10 inches and can’t grow short and definitely nottaller.

She grins, toothy. She can grow fatter aroundstomach and thighs, a girl’s nightmare. She’s got the height topull off more weight. She replaces medium scrubs for 2X sizedscrubs of bright baby blue with baby white kittens and brownpuppies along with matching solid baby blue pants. She gathers,swiftly three sweat suits set of dark navy varied sizes of medium,large and extra large to wear under her oversized hospitalscrubs.

She turns, swiftly toward cash registerslipping pair of scissors and minor items into basket. She pays,accurately cash then exits, slowly store trotting to PublicTelephone calling taxi.

Time: 6:39pm. Federal Building.

Preston enters, lastly through office arch ofCyber Crimes reaching new configuration of furniture in longrectangular four tables butted end to end creating sorry workingstations. He scoots, nosily chair on left side & eye burnsoccupants of Geneva on left butt end, Stockton top left corner,Lacy top right end. Right butt end shows Ilenn’s flirting visuallywith Arthur on right side of station. Larry occupies middle seatplaying on cell beside Preston.

Preston calls, immediately. “What wegot?”

Geneva talks, surly. “Not Pamela, I don’t seeyou hauling her pretty little…”

Preston has picked this particular corner ofwork station to curb & correct Geneva’s nasty mouth &shitty attitude. He leans, heavily into her ugly face & sourbreathe. “Peace out, Geneva. Troops are working the currentsituation. I don’t want to hear shit from your foul hole. I’mtired. I’m pissed and I might take this…all of this…out on yourass, later since you have pointed out so elegantly…this is yourrouge Retriever.”

Geneva opens, widely lips then closes it& frowns uglier than normal. Preston jerks skull to Arthur& grins, toothy. “What we got?”

“Food?” Larry neck snaps to noisy visitorcoming through archway.

“I ordered supper since we’re all workinglate.” Preston announces, wildly & beats, musically on newlegal note pad with fresh pencil eraser.

“Thanks, Preston.” Larry offers,complimentary & stands, swiftly assisting delivery guy withbags and boxes on rear table.

Arthur reports professionally & frowns,ugly. “Nothing! I have pieced together all the datum, data and infofrom various interviews, places and video.”

“We got recordings?” Preston repeats,interestingly.

Arthur presses button on laptop as overheadprojector displays, brightly lighted recording on provided whitescreen film against side painted white wall devoid of fine artwork. Pamela enters then turns sideways & waves, super friendlyat corner camera of Burn U computer center. About 15 minutes, laterPamela stares, beautifully into camera & smiles, sweetly.Finally, she waves goodbye & exits, slowly dressed in pinkoutfit and sandals.

“Pretty maidens in a row.” Geneva sneers,unfriendly & eye burns Preston.

Arthur interprets, fully. “She’s booking herflight to both Paris and London, then simply leaves the buildingwhile her work ID is being transmitted to FBI IT Lab Shop fortracing.”

Larry adds, completely between bites of food.“She picked up from two different locations of Kangaroo Storeshousing Western Union stations the three grand. Neither clerkrecognized her face from photo, nor anyone else in the conveniencestores. Those stores are packed with kids hourly since they remainopen 24/7. I can walk in naked, no one will notice….”

“Let’s not ever do that, Larry.” Prestoncomments, friendly, chuckles, lightly.

“Just making a valid point, Preston.” Larryremarks, quickly then bites into turkey sandwich.

“After our ruse…” Arthur eye burns Genevathen grins, toothy ‘cause the joke’s on her and her pocketbook.“…at the airport when Pamela missed both flights. We abandoned thatpost and interviewed Southside Public Library on new leads ofmissing…”

Geneva replaces, brilliantly. “…stolen.”

Arthur uses, productively. “Of stolen laptopat 11th and 17th Street. We circulated her photo there with samenegatory results. No one saw her…ever. But, she got a couple ofdates if found…” He snorts, humorously & eye burns Prestonsince he’s the only other native on Earth that knows theirdating.

Preston beats, musically eraser on notepadwithout viewing Arthur & sneers, ugly. “That’s not funny,Arthur.”

“Right, Preston?” Arthur eye burns notes& talks, meekly.

Larry swallows, quickly then chuckles,lightly & talks, boldly. “Along with some smartasses’ telephonenumbers, ya got those slips, Arthur.”

Preston reaches, rudely across Larry’s skullintercepts items. “I’ll take those from ya, Arthur.”

“Sure, boss.” Arthur hands, quickly wads ofpaper into Preston’s hand. Preston pockets items into his jacket.“We scouted and back searched from 16th to 21st Street focusingbetween 12th to 10th Avenues coming up with nada, again.”

Geneva growls, deeply in tenor saxophone atArthur. “She’s at the college hiding, dumb…”

“Geneva.” Preston rumbles in deep baritonetrombone with his original threat of beating her ass black &blue.

Geneva redirects, harshly. “Dumbo, with bigelephant ears.”

Arthur debates, logically. “I disagree,Geneva. Burn U is too big to cover unless we call in a couple offavors from the governor for Bama National Guardsmenassistance.”

Larry offers, patriotically. “They’re busy inIraq and Afghanistan doing their jobs.”

“You poking fun at me…” Geneva starts,swiftly, points, rudely unpolished finger nail at Larry.

“Geneva, what’s your birth date?” Prestonasks, calmly while eye burning the pad holding his pencil forwriting.

“Beg pardon.” Geneva blinks, quickly eyelids,neck snaps to Preston.

“What’s your day and month of your birth?”Preston whips chin upwardly & smiles, sweetly.

Geneva frowns, ugly then shoots virtualarrow, piercingly into his heart. “That…that’s irrelevantinformation here, Preston.”

“I need it for my FBI report. What’s yourbirthday, Geneva?” Preston eye burns notepad with pencil readilyfor writing.

Larry chews, quickly & swallows, rapidlylump of food then talks, hurriedly. “Sorry, Preston, I can do themreports after our meeting, later tonight. I’ll been too…busy.”

Preston eye burns Geneva & talks,commandingly. “That’s okay, Larry. I need this…particular data formy FBI report.”

Larry debates, directly. “I’ll handle themreports for ya, Preston.”

Preston eye burns Geneva & talks,authoritatively. “I’m boss and got my own director’s reports
