None of the rest of the word existed as we came down from heaven and our breathing normalized. By the time I could work my muscles again, my arms were stiff from being locked around him. When they flopped free of him, he rolled to the side, pulling me with him.

“I should have carried you to the bed.” He groaned. “I keep resolving to be romantic and create something special for you and then I take you on the hallway carpet like an animal.”

I grinned and wagged my eyebrows at him. “Well…”

“Don’t say it.” He rolled his eyes but grinned back at me. “You’ll be outnumbered soon in the animal department.” He kissed the tip of my nose. “I’ll get it right one of these days.”

“You already have. Beds are overrated. But don’t get me wrong, I’m relieved that’s an office in there and not a sex dungeon.”

He barked a laugh, then pulled me on top of his chest and sighed happily. “Hey, let’s go get your stuff and officially move you in here.”

“What?” I frowned. “You mean now?”

He shrugged and sat up leaning on his elbows. “You know what they say. There’s no time like the present.”

Standing, he held a hand out to me. “Come on. It won’t take long, I’m strong. I can carry a lot in one load.”

“Of course you are.” I winked teasingly and slid my hand into his to let him help me to my feet. But before I could get my legs under me, he bent and scooped me into his arms. I held on.

He whispered into my hair as he easily carried me down the stairs. “You’ve made me a very happy man.”

Tears formed, but I blinked them away. Damn hormones.

When we reached the front door, he paused. His face had grown serious, but he spoke in Klingon. “Bahng-WI’ shokh.”

I couldn’t fight the tears after hearing that. They flooded my eyes and spilled down my cheeks.

With a huge smile and my whole heart—which was now a lump in my throat—I repeated the phrase to back to him, “Bahng-WI’ shokh”—you are my love.
