in a humorous fashion thanks to my erection. Trying to ignore my situation down there and appear confident, I asked, “Where am I?”

“Not where, but when,” the woman said.

“Of course.”

She arched an eyebrow. “My name is Mizoa. This is Gliten, and the one staring out after her king is Moronoe.”

The names sounded familiar, although I couldn’t place where from. I nodded, introduced myself, and then added, “When are we?”

“In the year of our dear king’s departure,” the one called Moronoe said, finally turning now. She paused, frozen at the sight of the shawl around me. When I thought she would laugh, she turned instead to Mizoa with a glare. “This is truly him?”

“He’s the one, the holder of the Liahona.”

I took a step back. “How do you know about the Liahona?” My eyes went wide, moving back to the boat. “And by ‘king,’ I’m guessing you’re referring to King Arthur?”

“Yes.”

Somehow, I had gone to a time before him, to an afterlife-type place that was more of a reverse of Avalon, and now to the days shortly after Arthur either died or simply retired to the magical land.

“But… how is it, I mean, how are you able to bring him to Avalon?” I asked.

“We cannot, but he will go,” Moronoe said. “Whether it’s to the true version of Avalon, or… the upside-down version, we do not know, thanks to you.”

“How do you know anything about me? About Avalon?”

Suddenly all three of them were around me, eyes focused on mine, threatening to pull me in and never let me go.

“Surely, you’ve put together who we are by now?” Moronoe said.

“He has, I see it in him,” Gliten said.

My eyes flitted over to Mizoa, a very real dilemma forming. On the one hand, yes, it was clear these women were three of the Nine Witches, or Nine Ladies. What I wasn’t clear on, at this point in time, is where that put them in terms of allegiances or alignments. For example, I knew from conversations with my team that Mizoa was one of the Nine, but had left them when she learned about their betrayal of her mother, Rianne.

That being the case, did she not yet know?

“Well?” Gliten asked.

I nodded, slowly. “But, what I don’t know is why you brought me here.”

Moronoe sighed in exasperation. “It’s quite simple, don’t you see? We have made a pact, along with a sacrifice. So that you might restore Avalon to us. In return, we have much to offer.”

“A sacrif—” My hand literally went to my mouth to stop the gasp. It took me a second to process that my action had been even more telling, my eyes on the speck at sea that was presumably King Arthur. They had sacrificed him to call me here, in hopes that I would, for God knows what reason, join them and give them access to the magic of Avalon?

“Before you answer,” Gliten added, stepping up, finger wrapping into the shawl around my waist and moving along my skin, “know what we offer.”

“I think I have a good idea,” I replied, eyes going to Mizoa to see if she would be of help here. Instead of the secretive, shared look of working together that I hoped for, I saw that the top covering her upper body was falling away, exposing her goddess-like breasts. Full, round, dark nipples that stood out, calling to be kissed. Fuck. My cock surged, throbbing, begging for release.

“This is only part of it,” Moronoe added, nodding to Gliten, who now disrobed, as Mizoa finished as well. In modern times, one forgets what a fully untrimmed bush looks like, and now there were two there for my viewing pleasure. Gliten and Mizoa both reached out, hands undoing the shawl, moving along my hips, the upper curve of my ass. “Us, most certainly. Physical, but also… our power.”

“Wh—what do you mean?” I stammered, brain a murky swamp as my blood had rushed south and my lower head was taking over.

“There are forces at work, powerful fae magic, and more. But our magic—yours included—is stronger, or can be… if we work together.” This time, she stepped forward instead of the others. Only, instead of removing her clothes, she reached down and grabbed my balls, firmly. “We can secure this partnership, right here, right now.”

I blinked, processing the cold touch of her on me. It felt amazing on a physical level, and wrong on every other level. This was, as far as I knew, one of the enemy! Judging by what she was saying, she clearly meant to see that through, and was already well on that path.

Perhaps part of my wakeup call was the fact that this woman hadn’t tried to kiss me, or offered me any sort of tantalizing, seductive looks or touches. Who walks up and grabs a dude by the balls? Someone who wants control, that’s who. The other two were pressing their breasts to me, their eyes starting to glow with a swirling storm of magic as their hands caressed my skin.

And, as much as most other men would have hated to do what I did next, I owed it to Ebrill, Steph, and the others.

I focused my gaze on her, sneered, and shook my head. “Not going to happen.”

Her fingernails dug into my scrotum, the other two pressing tight now, holding me in place, but I had made up my mind.

I also wasn’t about to let her rip my nuts off, as I had no doubt she was capable of doing. Knowing my future children depended on my confidence in my abilities, I closed my eyes and willed myself out of there.

Pain shot through my balls, then my lower stomach. I opened my eyes, realizing I was still there.

“You’re playing by our rules, now,” Moronoe said, eyes taking on a wicked gleam. A prick down below, and I had to wonder if I was bleeding. My eyes darted to Mizoa, and I sensed something there—hesitation.

I was here under their rules, my magic not likely
