woman who demands much of their husband. Ibelieve I can manage that.โ€

โ€œI am not betrothing her toyou.โ€

He chuckled and held up hishands. โ€œI know. I know. I am not insisting on a betrothal, but Iwould like to meet her when she is an adult to see if we wouldsuit.โ€

โ€œFine. I will send her on amanga tour of Japan if she is interested in it. The clan home willbe on the tour.โ€

Rez grinned. โ€œYou readmanga?โ€

Arthur got her another mouthfulof grilled food and offered it to her. โ€œRez draws it.โ€

Her mouth opened, and he poppedthe food in. She chewed to clear her mouth. โ€œWhat genre?โ€

โ€œHistoricals and fantasy.โ€

She chuckled, and then a pieceof grilled salmon with rice came in. She mumbled. โ€œAre you makingrice balls with barbeque?โ€

Arthur grinned. โ€œIt is easier tofeed you this way.โ€

Rez asked, โ€œWhy is he feedingyou?โ€

Arthur answered. โ€œIf she movesher arms, her breasts move, and Riida gets mad.โ€

Stiila chuckled. โ€œShe loses herlatch, and she does not like that.โ€

Rez ate and asked more questionsabout babies, and then, they got into all sorts of topics regardingwomen and biology.

As the afternoon wore on, thegathering of women around Rez fluctuated. Orvis showed him herharpy form, and he grinned. His eyes making notes.

Hector held his son until hesqualled and waved his fists. Nessa grinned, and the dark headobscured her as she helped the little fella get his own meal.

The moon came up, and Stiilastood with her baby and husband as an ancient being learned how aperiod worked. It was a surreal evening. It was also amusing to seethe light come on in Abraxโ€™s eyes as to the timing of thepregnancy. She could see him doing mental math and understandingwhen his little dancer had gotten pregnant.

Stovos walked over. โ€œWell, itseems that the Garu clan is about to get an education. I tried totell him about this years ago, but no one trusts a dark elf.โ€

โ€œIt must be the hard-to-readexpressions.โ€ Stiila rocked her daughter.

Stovos chuckled. โ€œThat is true.It helps us when we go to comedy clubs. The comedians hate us.โ€

Stiila smiled. โ€œHow are you andOrvis getting on?โ€

โ€œWell, she hasnโ€™t killed me yet,so I think it is pretty good. We have gotten the news that herovaries have recovered active follicles. So, now we just have toget past the harpy reproduction arrangement, and we should have alittle girl of our own. After months of swollen ankles and crying,I mean. I donโ€™t know how she will put up with me.โ€ He grinned.

Orvis walked up behind him.โ€œBlatant bribery and foot rubs.โ€

Stiila watched the two interact, and she smiled. Orvis had run security for her at the shelterswhile she had been incapacitated with her pregnancy. She hadenjoyed it, but nothing was as determined as a fury.

With Riida in the bassinet,Stiila watched Arthur check on their baby before he came back tobed. โ€œShe gets bigger every day.โ€

โ€œShe really does. Is Stovosgoing to send you off on that new assessment?โ€

โ€œHe is, but I only have to dothe preliminary scouting, and then, I can head back in four days.โ€He chuckled. โ€œI will be back before you open that new shelter onthe west coast.โ€

โ€œGood. I donโ€™t want to travelwith her, but if I have to, I will.โ€ She smiled. โ€œRiida can see herfirst shelter.โ€

โ€œYou have the milk frozen?โ€

โ€œYup, and will be pumping whileI travel.โ€

He cuddled her. โ€œThe modern ageis weird.โ€

โ€œYeah, but we were both born init, so I will pump and go where I have to, returning home withfrozen milk. Donโ€™t make ice cream out of it again before I gethome.โ€

He laughed and stroked her arm.โ€œI make no promises. All of you tastes amazing.โ€

โ€œRiida gets to eat first. Thenyou.โ€

He pulled her against him andkissed her neck, moving down her neck and to her breasts. Hestarted as mage-Arthur, but when his tongue got in on the action,he shifted to ogre-Arthur. They both were great fathers, both wereattentive husbands, and both were excellent lovers, but the tasteof her was ogre-Arthurโ€™s favourite part. Now that she was nursing, her taste had a more physical aspect, and he enjoyed it whenever hecould.

She gasped and twisted underhim, making sure that he didnโ€™t take too much. Riida was thepriority for both of them, but their union was a close second.

She had spent so much time alonethat she hadnโ€™t dreamed that she would find the man she had dreamedof all her life. The fact that he had two separate faces justsuited her own duality. Splitting a soul was hard to do so, she wasdelighted that they all got along. Monsters needed to sticktogether, after all.

Authorโ€™s Note

I just wanted to write the story ofOrion and the Scorpion, so now I did. Stinger has her mate, and herdaughter has no curse sending her across the landscape.

My next book is a walk intoweirdness with more superheroes. The book is tentatively calledI Dated a Supervillain, and I am actually going to do a fewthings to the characters that I normally donโ€™t do.

Thanks for reading,

Viola Grace
