It was peaceful and serene, almost as though the moment had been designed and created specifically for the two of them. There were a lot of hills to climb before they could settle into their life without constantly looking over their shoulders. For a few minutes, life was perfect, though.
โNow youโve danced in the rain,โ Demitrius murmured to him. โI think this means that youโll have to make a new list.โ
โIโll work on it.โ He already had everything he wanted. What else could there possibly be? He was willing to devise a new list, however, if it meant that there would be more surprises like this one in his future.
It didnโt matter if he was cold, wet, or standing naked under the moon where anyone could see him. The gesture was romantic in a way he couldnโt describe, and he loved that Demitrius cared enough to remember the things he said. Even if dancing in the rain hadnโt been on his to-do list, he couldnโt complain.
Right in his mateโs arms was where he always wanted to be. If getting a little wet was the price he paid for that gift, let the rain come down, because he would gladly pay it a hundred times over.
โAre you ready to go inside?โ
Cuddling closer, Oscar placed a kiss against his loverโs cool, damp skin. โJust another minute.โ
โWhatever you want, baby. We can stay out here until the sun comes up.โ
โYou know, when you were so sad, I wanted to give you the sun, like a ray of light to break up the clouds.โ It was kind of ironic that some of his best memories with Demitrius involved the walks theyโd taken to watch the sun rise or set.
His lover didnโt speak for a long time, but when he did, the words were so full of emotion that a lump formed in Oscarโs throat and tears gathered in the corners of his eyes.
Gently cradling the back of his head, Demitrius bent and whispered into his ear. โWhy do I need the sun when I have you?โ
