“And what a sight that was!” Rae said to me.
He stepped into a large closet and started getting dressed. Moments later he emerged wearing dark blue jeans with a black shirt that seemed to complement his chest. He looked hot and now he was going out to the festival to be seen, flirted with, lusted after. My jealousy was peaking, and I couldn’t understand what was happening to me.
“I want to go with you.” I said a bit forcefully.
“It’s too dangerous. We’ll be stepping into a pit full of vipers. I can’t do what I need to and worry about you. I need to be seen without you, give the illusion that I don’t really know or care where you’re at.” He said and placed a kiss on my head.
“How long will you be gone?”
“I should be back before you wake up.”
“I could go and help, I’m not some weak wolf who needs to hide. I’m a gifted Alpha you know.” I scoffed.
“If you’re thinking about going anywhere, I will tie you to the bed! You need to promise me you will stay here.” His voice was rough.
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh, I would! And I’d enjoy punishing you too. Don’t make me spank you little girl.” He looked at me with a smoldering look that told me he would definitely enjoy making me squirm and submit.
“Fine, go. I’ll be here waiting.” I huffed and sat back down on the bed with my arms crossed over my chest practically pouting.
“That’s a good girl. Spiro will be downstairs if you need anything.” He kissed me quickly before he left the room.
As an Alpha, he should know that it’s not in the nature of an Alpha to sit down and do nothing. He had called me a little girl and suddenly I felt small. What kind of festivities was he going out to enjoy tonight?
My phone chimed and I looked down to find a text from Rocky that said “Where are you? We’ve been looking for you.”
A wave of relief washed over me, and I picked up the phone to call Rocky. No answer. I texted back, “Is everything okay?”
“Everything is fine. Can you meet us at Richy’s Temple of Sweets? I’ll explain everything.”
“What time?” I texted back.
“10:00pm” The phone chimed.
I grabbed my purse and ran downstairs to the kitchen looking for Spiro but found Elaina. “Has Dimitri left yet?”
“I’m not sure, he might still be in the garage downstairs.” She said.
“Thank you.” I called and ran towards the stairs leading down to the garage. They were already gone. I had less than two hours to get to the ice cream shop. I couldn’t mind link Dimitri yet because we haven’t mated, and I didn’t have his cell phone number to call him.
I looked around the garage, there was several cars and motorcycles to pick from. When I was fourteen, Knox and Peter had received motorcycles for their sixteenth birthday, they taught me how to ride. I decided a motorcycle would be best because the streets would still be a mess with the festival going on. I flung my purse over my neck and shoulder. It had my phone, forty euros and my lighter in it. I slipped on a full face helmet and rolled my hair in a knot to tuck it up inside of the helmet.
We had driven north to get here, so I knew that Athens was south. I paid attention to the roads and landmarks so that I could find my way back. An hour later, I could see the lights of Athens come in to view from a distance. Anxiety crept up inside of me, this city was crawling with henchman looking for me.
As I entered the city, I wondered what Dimitri was doing and what kind of festivities he was enjoying. I tried to focus on the task at hand, which was to go and meet with Rocky and get back before Dimitri noticed I was gone. The university came into sight and I pulled up near Richy’s Temple of Sweets. Strange, the shop appeared to be closed. It was usually open until eleven on the weekends.
“Maybe he closed early because of the festival.” Rae said.
I reached into my purse to see if Rocky had texted me, nothing. My fingers were ready to dial Rocky when the phone rang. I pulled the face shield of the helmet up and answered on speaker phone.
“Rocky?” I asked.
“Tisk, tisk, tisk. Is that how you greet an old friend?” Eros’ voice sent a cold chill down my spine.
“Where’s Rocky?” I demanded and the phone disconnected.
“GO, GO, GO!” Rae yelled at me.
I heard the sound of heavy footsteps running in my direction and dropped the phone back in my purse. I punched the motorcycle and started zipping and darting, not really sure where I was going. I could hear other motorcycles speeding up behind me.
The palm trees at the National Garden came into view and I jumped the sidewalk and cut through the park. National Garden is a large and lush park in the heart of Athens. I wasn’t sure where to go and continued to drive like a mad woman nearly knocking people over. I jumped the sidewalk and darted down the walkway through the park. I looked over my shoulder and didn’t see anyone following me.
This was a set up. Rocky was nowhere and they had her phone. They probably had Rocky too. It was all my fault and I needed to find Dimitri.
