against her. The pleasure zinging through his cock was incredible, relentless and frustrating. He wanted to bury himself balls deep in her hot little pussy, but he had more control than that. He would give her what she needed without demanding anything in return. She made him want to be less selfish.

She keened wildly causing Havel to stick his head through the curtain. Luckily Shaunโ€™s head was turned into Jozefโ€™s neck. It was obvious exactly what was happening from the way she was undulating on top of Jozef, his hand down the front of her dress while the other one was under the table.

Jozef narrowed his eyes at his second-in-command, but he didnโ€™t stop touching Shaun.

Havelโ€™s eyes flared with lust, but he disappeared quickly, likely doubling down on his vigilance to let no one else into the VIP area. Jozef ignored the man. He was doing his job, checking on the boss and his woman. The sexual encounter was unplanned and Jozef hadnโ€™t warned his people to back off. Havel was a man with a manโ€™s responses, but he was also a professional. He would spend a few uncomfortable minutes after what he saw then he would forget.

โ€œIโ€™m coming, Iโ€™m coming!โ€ Shaun whimpered, pressing her teeth against Jozefโ€™s throat as she opened her mouth wide.

He turned his head and captured her lips, swallowing her screams as she came on top of him, squirming wildly, jerking in his arms, her fluids soaking him.

She collapsed against his chest and tore her lips from his so she could gasp for air.

He lifted her off his lap, smiling at the way she flopped like a limp doll as he laid her down on the booth. He lifted her legs and tucked them against him, then leaned across her to press kisses to her throat and face.

When he touched her cheek, he noticed a tear and frowned, looking down at her. Was she crying?

She touched her face and looked at the wetness on her fingers, then laughed. โ€œIt was good, Jozef. Really good. I think Iโ€™m crying from relief. I needed that.โ€ Then she rolled her head to the side and frowned at the underside of the table. โ€œWe couldโ€™ve picked a better spot though. Iโ€™m not really into exhibitionism.โ€

Jozef let out a growling laugh and clasped her against his chest, hugging her tightly. She was everything to him. He would do anything to protect her and the feelings she generated inside him. He had learned from his family that loyalty was a strength. Now he was learning from Shaun that love was not a weakness, as heโ€™d thought previously, but just as much a strength as loyalty. Love motivated him like nothing else could.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the delicate chain with the tiny heart. He draped the heated metal across her cleavage before securing it around her neck.

โ€œThank you,โ€ she whispered. โ€œI didnโ€™t know what happened to it.โ€

Itโ€™s your heart, he signed, his eyes glowing with possession. I will always keep it safe for you.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Word travelled fast between the two Koba households and the next day Shaun and Fatima were invited to lunch with Dasha and Leeza. Jozef reluctantly gave his permission for the women to leave, though he was unhappy that he couldnโ€™t accompany them. Shaun wanted to ask what he was doing that he couldnโ€™t come, but hesitated. It was that line between his work and her feelings toward what he did for a living. She wasnโ€™t ready to cross it yet.

Shaun changed into a cream skirt suit with a rose-coloured blouse underneath a jacket and a matching scarf wrapped around her tightly pinned hair. She added a pair of heels and looked herself over in the mirror. Conservative but stylish. Not her usual, but she didnโ€™t want to cause waves. The brief time sheโ€™d spent with the Kobas had taught her enough about fashion that she knew how to dress correctly for a luncheon with Dasha.

Fatima was another story.

When Shaun showed up at her motherโ€™s apartment with Karl in tow, Fatima took one look at her daughter and said, โ€œShit, I need to change.โ€

Shaun laughed and followed her mother, who was running through the apartment to her bedroom. Fatima was wearing a pair of jeans and a sweater with a black bear knitted into the grey fabric. It was cute, but definitely not appropriate for the Koba household. The women in that house wouldnโ€™t be caught dead leaving their apartments in anything less than formal day dress.

โ€œI never know what to wear to these things,โ€ Fatima mumbled digging through her drawers.

โ€œMom, itโ€™s fine. They wonโ€™t care.โ€ They probably would care but Shaun would shut down anyone who dared to comment. โ€œWe need to purchase some more clothes for you. You brought enough for a vacation, but not for your day-to-day needs.โ€

โ€œI hadnโ€™t planned on staying here long-term.โ€ There was an edge of sarcasm to Fatimaโ€™s voice as she held up a pair of black dress pants, examining them critically. She tossed them on the bed along with a black shell and a formal jacket. โ€œItโ€™s dark, but itโ€™ll have to do.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll grab a scarf from upstairs and youโ€™ll be all set.โ€

Shaun ran back to her suite and rifled through her assortment of scarves, most still with the tags attached, and found a lovely gold and green leaf-patterned scarf that would give Fatimaโ€™s outfit a splash of colour.

Jozef met Shaun at the door of the club, his eyes sweeping over her, a slight smile curving his lips. She loved that smile. The scar slashing through his lips gave him a sinister edge, but she didnโ€™t care. She thought he was beautiful.

Jozef pressed a kiss to her lips and ran his hand over her hair. He touched the necklace at her throat, lingering over the tiny heart. He had eyes for no one but Shaun as he said a private goodbye. It didnโ€™t matter that she was only going across the city, or that she would be
