them.

Urrax and the Scavenger fought fiercely. Looking towards the children, Pyros shouted, “Tear off the Pages of Destiny. ANYHOW!”

The children rushed towards the ‘Book of the Universe’ and lifted it. James tried to pull off the Pages of Destiny.

To his shock, he could not. Daniel too tried, but the Pages seemed to be like hard plastic. Archer summoned fireballs onto the Pages, but the fire just vanished without any impact. Daniel brought cactus to tear off the Pages, but to no avail. James tried to use sharp ice cones to cut through the Pages, but in vain.

The children got frustrated. Tears rolled down their eyes. Things couldn’t go wrong now.

The Gods were chanting spells with maximum intensity, hoping the dimension would close fast. The Skull Warrior was frantic and pushing hard to come out of the dimension.

The situation was getting desperate.

Meanwhile, Urrax was using all kinds of magical powers on the Scavenger. The Scavenger got slowly pushed near the entrance of the dimension. The Scavenger felt that the dimension was sucking him in. Urrax laughed in a demonic tone.

Suddenly, sharp nails pierced the Scavenger’s back, cutting through his armour.

The Scavenger shrieked in pain. They were the hands of the Skull Warrior that were protruding out of the dimension. The immortal Scavenger was about to get sucked into the dimension forever. He wasn’t able to call for help as his voice got lost in the rumbling sound near the dimension.

That very moment…

Matt regained consciousness and opened his eyes. He saw the Scavenger desperately gesturing for help.

In a flash, Matt turned and saw his friends surrounding a book and trying to tear out some pages from it.

There was no time left for Matt to ponder on what was going on. As if on instinct, Matt rushed towards the Scavenger and threw the powerful Slayer towards him.

The Scavenger raised his hands. The Slayer’s hilt entered his hand so smoothly, it was as if fate itself had demanded it. Without losing another moment, he slashed it across Urrax with a roar. The Slayer cut through Urrax’s neck.

Urrax fell to the ground, dead, almost instantly.

Aronicle was finally avenged now.

The Scavenger tried to turn so that he could slash the protruding hands of the Skull Warrior. But he could not turn.

The Gods were surprised that, as time passed, the dimension was fading at a much slower rate. No One, Oni and Rath collapsed out of exhaustion. Paragon was almost unconscious.

Then… the worst thing happened.

A swirling vortex emerged from the dimension and started sucking the Scavenger in. He shouted as the hands of the Skull Warrior strengthened their grip on his armour.

Paragon collapsed unconscious. The chanting by the Gods stopped. The energy of the vortex became so high that it started sucking everybody and everything into the dimension.

Pyros, Thomas, Staler, Skazen and the children were shocked as they held on to whatever they could to prevent themselves from being dragged towards the dimension.

It was evident that something else had to be done. The Pages of Destiny held the key to escape from this situation, but no one was able to tear them off from the ‘Book of the Universe’.

Paragon suddenly regained consciousness and turned to James. He yelled, “TO CHANGE FATE, YOU HAVE TO DESTROY FATE!”

Paragon’s words made so much sense to James’s mind that he at once knew what he had to do.

He rushed towards the Scavenger, who was somehow holding out from getting sucked into the dimension.

James shouted at the Scavenger, “GIVE ME THE SLAYER!”

The Scavenger knew that it was only the Slayer that was protecting him from getting sucked into the dimension. If he let go of the Slayer, he would be immediately sucked inside.

But the Scavenger trusted James’s intelligence. Without any second thoughts, the Scavenger threw the Slayer towards James.

James caught the Slayer. The Scavenger closed his eyes, and Lord Arcane’s picture came into his mind. He was ready to get sucked into the dimension for eternity any moment now.

A sudden powerful blast sent shockwaves down everyone’s spine. There was an ear-piercing roar from the Skull Warrior and then everything went silent.

The pull from the dimension stopped. The Scavenger stared at the wall from where the dimension opened.

It was a plain wall with a fireplace.

The dimension had closed, sucking the Skull Warrior inside.

The Scavenger could not understand what had happened. He turned around.

Archer and Daniel held the ‘Book of the Universe’ in their hands by the sides. James had pierced the Slayer straight through the middle of the ‘Book of the Universe’.

Archer and Daniel kept the Book on the ground along with the Slayer that had cut through it. Everyone watched as the two powerful things slowly turned to dust.

James, Archer and Daniel hugged Matt, who was fully conscious now.

The four children cried, tears of joy pouring down their faces.

“You kept the promise.” Matt was crying profusely. He knelt to the ground as his knees failed to support him. It was an emotional moment. Thomas, Skazen, Staler, Pyros and the Scavenger surrounded the children; everyone was crying.

After a long while, Daniel spoke, “I am still shocked that Osay was actually Urrax. I thought that he died during our war with the Skull Warrior.”

The Scavenger said to James, “You remember, I had expressed my doubts whether Urrax died that day. But I didn’t press too much as rescuing Matt was everyone’s priority.”

James nodded. “Lot of unanswered questions make sense now. Pyros – the all knowledgeable – was not able to find out anything about Osay. That was because Osay was just a code name. The person was actually Urrax.”

As the Pages of Destiny along with the ‘Book of the Universe’ and the Slayer started vanishing, the demons everywhere started evaporating. The skeletons crumbled into ashes. The hounds too converted to dust.

The Unicorn King and the allies surrounded the gathering. The Scavenger hugged the Unicorn King, thanking him for all that he had done. Paragon was the first among the Gods to become conscious. Oni, Rath and No One also regained consciousness. Without the Gods,
