playing out next door. I finished what I was doing and washed my hands, only to see that he hadn’t locked the door in the mirror. He wouldn’t have worried about anyone else in his state, because you couldn’t get in here without a key. Perhaps that’s why I went to the doorway.

“Fuck… Fuck…” He gasped out the words, the muscles in his arms popping, his grip brutal on his rigid dick. But it didn’t stop him from turning his head, his body still resolutely facing the toilet with the seat up, his eyes straining to catch mine.

“Damn…” I said. “You’re really wound tight. Need some help?”

“Paige… We’re not supposed to. I shouldn’t.”

Mason and me, we’d had sex drunk and under the influence of whatever the fuck that was last night, but never this—just him and me. He shuddered when I placed my hand on his shoulder blade, the soft furry fabric of the flannel nice on my skin. I licked my lips, which were suddenly dry from the sight of him, strung tight as a bow, at the mercy of his hormones for me. I deserved this, this homage, even in the shitty surrounds. I deserved him half out of his mind, jerking one off in a public toilet from listening to me get off all morning. And so he gave it to me, panting right before he angled his dick precisely, his cum splashing the water below, spurt after spurt.

A knock on the door had him zipping up quickly, checking for mess before flushing the toilet, then turning to face me. His eyes dropped to my lips, staring way too long before moving to wash his hands.

“Mason…”

He picked up my hand and pressed a kiss to my palm.

“I’m glad they’re treating you right. I’m glad they please you. You deserve pleasure.”

“And what do you deserve?” I asked.

He paused, his smile small and fragile. “Whatever you’ll give me.”

I pressed my mouth to his, tasting the coffee he’d been drinking and him, his arms going around me, holding me tight. But another knock had me pulling away, jerking open the door to the sight of the guys all lined up, Declan and Micah grinning.

“All good in here?” Dec asked.

“Fine. Where’s Bridget?” I replied.

“Inside getting a coffee,” Zack replied. “She’s been asleep most of the drive. Her meds are knocking her around a bit.”

“I’ll check in with her then,” I said, handing the keys over.

Chapter 27

The trip from Lupindorf to the city was always a hard one. As a passenger, it was worse because you were just sitting still all day. We rolled into town feeling tired, restless, and edgy, but as soon as we started driving down the hills to the city below, I settled. My skirt was flipped back to where it should be, my clit throbbing wildly from all the attention it had gotten, and I craned my neck, seeing the cityscape emerge. My breath seemed to come easier as the rural properties started to emerge, the houses getting closer and closer together the farther we got in, the guys trying to take everything in. Few of us left Lupindorf, and right now, I wondered why.

“So this is it?” Mason asked as we parked in front of the gym.

I’d undone my seatbelt as we rolled to a stop, leaning forward to take it in. I looked at the glass door and saw the hastily drawn up sign Zack had left on it for our customers. I nodded, then turned to Declan, needing to get out. He smiled and opened the door, climbing out and then holding out a hand to me. It was getting late in the afternoon, the sun starting to drop, the wind cool on my skin, but I walked up and put my hand on the door handle, knowing I couldn’t pull it open but wanting to feel it against my palm anyway. Zack strolled up, a crooked grin on his face, then put the key in the lock and opened it.

It felt weird walking in with a skirt on, the air playing around my legs foreign, but as we went deeper into the gym, I breathed in the smells of bleach and sweat, of rubber matting and clean towels and socks. Micah kept abreast of me, shooting me a sidelong smile. He knew what I was feeling, I could tell. I wondered if he wanted to slip under the ropes, get in the ring, go a few sparring rounds to get the blood up and shuck off the inertia of travel. I remembered our fights, in the ring, in the enforcers’ quarters, and for a split second, I saw a much different fight play out. His fangs flashed as his smile broadened, making it clear he saw the same.

“So this is where you work?”

Bridget, by comparison, was almost shy. Her eyes were wide, trying to take everything I knew so well in, and it took me back to when I’d stumbled in here, in ill-fitting clothes that just added to my awkwardness.

“Yeah. I started over here on the front counter.” I pointed to the desk, complete with brochures and forms. “Just working the till and signing in members. That was until Zack took me under his wing.”

“You were a double-edged sword,” Zack said. “On the one hand, you brought more guys in here than ever before, and some women. But on the other, I knew your call was gonna create some problems.”

When he stared down at me, I felt a rush of it, that same intensely loving warmth that had used to scare the hell out of me, but not now. I moved closer, like he was a fire and I needed to warm myself on it. He took my hands, rubbing his thumbs across my knuckles, and then drew us forward.

“I asked her if she wanted to learn how to defend herself, and she was super keen while trying to hide that behind a professional mask.”

“I was just thinking of getting my
