well. Like a Queen,” Isaid. “They fixed up a room for me that was the most beautiful and luxuriousroom I’ve ever seen and even bought me an entire wardrobe, hand-selected byThomas and Ash.”

Sloane chuckled. “It’s about time they realize how totreat a lady.”

“Well, there was once upon a time when they drove meout,” I said. “But it was a major misunderstanding that costed us two years. The boys and I haven’t kept in touch for two years before I received yourletter for the reading of the will, Mr. Sloane.”

“Unfortunately, they are learning their lessons thehard way. They need to learn how to appreciate what they have or they can loseit,” Mr. Sloane said.

I thought he was talking about me, but he could betalking about the Keystone inheritance as well.

“I’m almost at Keystone Manor,” Sloane said. “Be readyand alert to take notes for the next part of the will. Clay always tried toease into things at the beginning by making things easier. Then, Wham! He wouldthrow a curve ball at you. All these years being his friend and attorney, I’dlearned that with Clay, things aren’t always what they appear.”

“Thanks for the heads up,” I said.

“You’ll need it. You’re at a disadvantage because youdidn’t grow up with Clay, like the Keystones boys. His puzzles have a lot to dowith the time he spent with them growing up. He really loved his boys, and partof the will was constructed so he could help them remember the fond memoriesthey had with him as their father.”

I gulped, holding back tears. I knew Seb was angry athis father, and so was Ash. Thomas didn’t exactly get along buddy to buddy withhis father, too. In fact, they didn’t seem to know him or understand him atall. “Well, I hope the sons do come to appreciate everything he’s done forthem,” I said. “And that they do remember the fond memories they had with him.”

“And that is why, Ms. Kaley, you are a vital part ofall this.”

“What?” I asked. “Why?”

“You are close to the boys, but also can see thingsfrom Clay’s point of view. It makes you more objective. It also makes the boysrely on you more than they want. You, dear girl, are the key to making this allwork.”

I blinked. Again, I was referred to as the “key”.

“Now I’m really curious how this will all work out,” Isaid.

“I’m turning the corner on the road and will be at themanor in five minutes,” Sloane said. “Be ready to go on a hunt…”

Chapter 6

Kaley

After talking to Mr. Sloane on the phone, I headedback into the manor.

“Hey guys,” I called out. “Sloane will be here in 5minutes.”

Ash bounded down the staircase, wearing onlysweatpants hung low on his waist, giving me a clear view of his tattooed chest, his washboard abs, and defined V lines going down his hips. His hair was wetfrom getting out of the shower making him hotter than hell.

The whiff of fresh soap, and warm skin made my mouthwatered.

His beautiful blue eyes were staring into mine, enjoying how I was looking at him. “Like what you see?” he asked coming towardsme.

“When have I not?” I asked, my voice hoarse fromwanting him.

In an instance, his body was pressed against mine ashe pushed me towards the edge of the console table behind me. Under the loosefabric of his sweatpants, I could feel his hard-on against my stomach. Hismouth came up close to mine, hovering barely over mine.

“I want to fuck you so badly right now,” Ash said. “Ikept picturing you naked and wet with me in the shower as I stroked myself.” Heswallowed. “I must have jacked off at least five times in there trying to getwanting to fuck you out of my system. But here I am, still hard as a rock, still wanting to fuck you to the end of days.”

“Hey Ash, cool it,” Seb’s deep voice came over the topof the stairs. “Remember that provision.”

Ash moved away from me and ran his fingers through hishair. “Damn it’s hard.”

“Tell me about it,” Thomas said, coming from thekitchen. He had flour on his nose and cheeks.

“What have you been doing?” I asked.

“Baking,” Thomas said. “Making bread. Something to dowith my hands. It’s therapeutic,” he said smiling.

“I love what you can do with your hands,” I said, sniffing the air as the savory smell of fresh bread wafted through. I walkedover to him, wiping his nose with my fingers, trying to get the flour off hisface.

“Yeah,” Thomas said, his voice suddenly husky. “I lovewhat I can do with my hands on you,” he whispered to me. “I have to admit, seeing you with Sutton this morning and how he had his hands all over you, whenI couldn’t, made me almost lose it. I want you, Kaley. And I want you badly.”

“Believe me,” I said, “I can’t wait to get throughthis will, myself. Speaking of which, Sloane should be here right aboutnow.”

The doorbell rang just as I turned around to face thefront door.  I couldn’t wait to see Sloane, who was now like a dear friend ofmine.

I walked to the front door in quick strides with a bigwelcoming smile on my face, ready to greet the fatherly Sloane, before anyoneelse to get the door.

When I opened the door wide to say “Hi,” I immediatelywished I had checked the peephole or at least the camera before opening it.

“Hi, Miss,” an old man with pock marks on his face andwearing a suit straight out of a disco-era movie with a giant bald man standingbehind him, said. “Mind if we come in? We have business with the Keystonesboys.”

“Shit,” I heard Thomas said a distance away from me.

Seb was immediately by my side as he pushed me out ofthe way, standing between the two strangers and me. “Whatever you have to say,you can say it to me here,” he said to them.

The old man didn’t look bothered at all, but casuallysaid, “Where’s the other son… the smart one who’s going to solve the puzzles?”

Thomas was already standing next to Seb, having shovedme further back behind them, while Ash
