As Roxanne (prominently known as Lilac) began to fall faster towards the Upper Bays of New York, she spread out her glassy wings a few centimeters off the water, causing the water to react as her wings spread out, causing a temporary tide reaction. She took a deep breath and started to look around her as the Sparrows were still high up in the sky, while some were heading towards her. As she looked up floating with her wings spread open, she thrust with great pure essences of energy generated from her glassy wings, which helped her fly higher towards the Sparrows.
As she flew upwards to the same altitude as the enemy ships, she unleashed hexagonal blades from her glass wings as bladed projectiles towards a couple of Sparrows, while she thrusted using her shadow manipulation energy to slice the Sparrow in half, with the blade projectiles being a distraction to the AI militants piloting the air vehicles. Explosion after explosion, she began to take down each Sparrow one by one, as more kept coming in as she looked from the corner of her eye that one Sparrow from a distance approached the Freighter ship.
Curiosity began to dwell into her mind, on that one specific Sparrow not attacking her, and who were those two teenaged boys in that air vehicle? She was really intrigued about what was going on, also many questions began to boggle her mind, like how did this invasion suddenly come into play? Did the mothership, Freighter, Sparrows, etc all come from a portal from another dimension? Who were those two teen boys in that Sparrow?
Roxanne never thought flying, gliding, and maneuvering could never be overly complicated especially during this invasion. Controlling speed, levitation, flight, accuracy and considering self-weight was too much undermining elements for her to comprehend. She really despised having these abilities, but it was her decision that she choose to be granted these abilities after passing Mr. Universeβs trials, despite her condescending and cocky behaviour to others, deep down she was kind, honest and respectful to others, along with her desires not being greedy or power hungry. She had always wondered if she could fly to space with her flight abilities but was worried that it probably would not work out, meaning air pressure could impact her health and abilities throughout the atmospheric layers. Her flight abilities always had gravity preventing her from floating, which is why her wings were more designed to glide at the same altitude rather than fly at different altitudes.
Tired, exhausted, she could not take any more plasmatic blasts hitting her even with her shielded shadow glass abilities at her aid. She was drenched with sweat all over her forehead, which made her hair even more wet. Flying and using her attack abilities drained a lot of energy out of her arms and legs. She was not used to using her abilities in a situation like this, since she did not have enough experience of an attacking situation like this, while her sisters and friends had more experience with their abilities after the attack on their school last year. She always thought the most tiring part of her flight ability was getting higher and higher in altitude with it, due to her glass wingspan being mainly meant for gliding, not for flight at multiple altitudes.
CRASH!
βAAAAAHHH!β Roxanne screamed in pain as the Sparrowβs snout impacted her face along with her wingsβ glass shards shattering into many pieces. More and more air vehicles began to attack and bombard her, she was outnumbered, surrounded, alone and battle damaged from the heavy artillery going on. Her glass wings began to self repair slowly, reforming its hexagonal pink, purple cells of illumination along with her shadow essence keeping her afloat.
She stood there afloat as more and more AI militants surrounded her in the air vehicles, she knew that this was the end of her, as her cheek started to bleed from the Sparrow that impacted her face earlier. As she held her hands up with empowered purple black shadow essence, preparing to defend herself from another attack, but something caught the corner of her right eye as she steadied herself in the air.
A colorful lust of polychromatic blasts began to penetrate through the Sparrows with a mysterious figure striking through it with its flight abilities and energy blast attacks, one by one the Sparrows surrounding Roxanne began to lessen. Now was her chance to attack, since a mysterious flying figure was helping her out, she thrust her wings and started attacking the Sparrows one by one. After a couple of tiring minutes of destruction, explosions and shattered pieces of Sparrows falling into the Upper Bays of New York, Roxanne was approached by the mysterious flying figure.
βSandra?β Roxanne said so in a shocked tone as she floated in the sky.
βGuess I am not the only one who can fly,β Sandra said happily.
βYouβre a Stellar-Being?β Roxanne asked.
βNot particularly, itβs a long story,β Sandra said.
βWhat made you come all the way here, I thought you were too busy to come by,β Roxanne asked curiously.
βWell, you know the news says it all,β Sandra said. βAlso, you and my friends are here. By the way, Happy 19th Birthday Roxanne.β
βThanks,β Roxanne said in an appreciative tone.
The two stood next to each other as if they were two birds using the sky as their playground as more air vehicles began to approach them, getting in their way of heading to the Freighter or the Planetarium Traveler X1. Sandra was wearing regular pair of jeans with ripped holes where her knees were, along with a white t-shirt and her traditional black hoodie. She was wearing her Kaleidoscopic glasses, while her curly blonde hair was a little all over the place due to the
