know.” I wink teasingly.

The move to Everton was smoother than I imagined, thanks to Camden hiring movers to do all the dirty work for us. We decided to take our bedroom furniture, Walker’s furniture, and the sofa Camden had in his apartment. We’ll buy the rest of the furniture here.

Camden washes his hands and grabs Walker from my wrap, lifting him a bit and kissing his stomach. His wedding band shines under the kitchen light, and I smile widely.

My sexy husband. He gives me butterflies every day. We got married as soon as we moved to Everton, our families surprising us with the exact ceremony we wanted. Intimate, whimsical, and joyous. Faith and her best friends helped transform the barn at her house into a magical setting where I married the love of my life.

I couldn’t ask for a better homecoming. The people in town have been so welcoming as well, sharing their excitement to have me living back in Everton and asking if my mom will be the next to move.

Although she says she’s happy in Virginia, I think she’ll be making her way over here, especially when Easton and Faith tell her that they’re having a baby. A well-kept secret on my end for now because I noticed Faith’s pale face one day and the mention of nausea.

I’m ready for Walker to have a cousin to play and bond with, to create memories the way Easton and I did growing up. I’m confident my dad is looking down at us with a huge smile. We’ve come full circle, honoring his memory and our roots. Honoring him with Walker’s name as well. Our little and strong Walker James, a fighter like his grandad, charming like his father, and green eyes like his mother. He’s perfect and he’s mine.

I never knew this kind of love existed, and it’s so special that no amount of words can describe it. I want to give our son the world and protect him from it at the same time. Then, I look at Camden and can’t imagine having a better father for my child. The irony of life—my brother’s best friend and the ultimate womanizer is the man I couldn’t live without. Who knew when I met him as a teenager that I’d be standing in our house, watching him talk to our son, and be madly in love with him?

“You’re staring,” Camden teases.

“I can’t help it. Do you know how hot you look holding him?” I wink.

Camden’s arms flex under his Henley shirt as he shifts Walker, and his usual scruff has turned into a five-day beard, making him look more mature and a lot sexier. I told him he couldn’t shave ever again, and when I moaned at the feel of his beard between my legs, he agreed.

“I think it’s Walker’s nap time,” he winks and looks down at Walker. “What do you say? You’re really sleepy, right, buddy?”

“We have dinner at Easton’s tonight.” I remind him of our plans. Easton and Faith are having their friends over to hang out.

Life has changed from late nights at bars to early evenings at someone’s house. Most of them have children, focusing on family life instead of wild nights out.

They’ve welcomed us with open arms, making us a part of their circle, for which I’m grateful. It was easy for Easton since he had Faith, and he knew these people growing up. Being younger, I didn’t know them well enough, but they’ve been nothing short of amazing since we arrived, offering any help we need.

“We have a few hours before then,” Camden interrupts my thoughts.

“Hmmm…” I lift my brows and tuck in my lips to keep from smiling.

“Yeah. Besides, Walker will need to nap, or he’ll be cranky at your brother’s house.” He weaves his way toward me, his words perfectly chosen to convince me.

“I guess you’re right.” I shrug indifferently, even though I want nothing more than to lie in his arms and make love to him.

Camden bounces Walker until his eyes close, and he places him in his crib with a kiss on his forehead. His bedroom is painted in light gray and powder blue with a modern crib on one end and his changing table dresser on another. I love sitting in here with him in the evenings and rocking him, just my little guy and me spending time together.

“Come on.” Camden’s arms wrap around me, and I turn to face him.

“I love you. Thank you for this. Thank you for agreeing to move here and being further away from your family.”

“You and Walker are my family. I go where you go. We’re not kids who depend on our parents any longer. Now, it’s our turn to show up for our child the way our parents did for us. You are my family since the day I knocked you up ’til the day I die.”

I laugh at his choice of words and kiss his chin. “You knocked me up pretty good.”

“Best thing that could’ve happened to me.” His lips fuse to mine in a heat-filled kiss, melting away everything around us until it’s just Camden and me, promising our hearts to one another.

I may have had a one-night-stand with my brother’s best friend, but I can’t imagine it happening any other way for us. Lord knows if it weren’t for my desperation to have a little fun between the sheets, we might not be standing here today. I can’t picture a life without him now. Like Camden said, it was the best thing that could’ve happened to us.
