We got out of the boat and first thing that was done, was a fire was made and some meat was cooked. They ate out of necessity I ate out of boredom, โWhere to from here brother?โ Mylicious asked as he scarfed down the last bit of meat.
I looked at the land, I knew exactly which direction to head, โWe will need horses, or we could just run there ourselves, it would be quicker,โ I said.
โNo, no need to exhaust ourselves, we will get some horses, we will wait until night fall though and take some,โ Mylicious said and grabbed his stomach, โIโm not feeling the best, must have been the Elk.โ
I heard his stomach rumble as he walked past Yura and I, in a hurry, โHeโs had too much of his drink,โ Yura said and smiled.
โThat stuff is horrible,โ I said.
โI know, I donโt know how he, or anyone else drinks it,โ she said and cringed up her face.
We then heard grunting, then splattering, a smell came our noses that was of the upmost horribleness, of smells. Yura gagged, I wished I could have, but I couldnโt. Mylicious reappeared with sweat on his brow.
โShould we get a move on,โ he said, not acknowledging the stench he had released upon us, โI hope no one steals my boat while we are away.โ
โI would be okay with it,โ I said and smiled.
โItโs warmer here, Iโll have to get used to it,โ Yura said.
โWell, if we take you where we are from, it gets warmer, a lot warmer,โ Mylicious said.
I didnโt want to mention going to where we were from because I wasnโt for sure if I was going to head back there or not. Killing Pontius was still on my mind, I just didnโt feel like doing it yet. The look on Yuraโs face though, she was excited to be out and on an adventure.
We walked but a few miles before coming to a town, that Iโve passed through before in my travels. Unlike last time, it was daylight and people could see us. I had forgotten to cover up, all except for my eye coverings. I had to have looked odd to them, a man of all white, wearing purple glasses, dressed in foreign clothes.
The people there, for the most part left us alone. Once my brain deciphered their language, I heard one person ask where we were from, I responded, โAll over, we are travelers, we are just passing through.โ I left it at that and was left alone.
Their huts were nicely built, stone bases, with wood and hay tops, I thought back to when huts were crude, and the slightest wind could pass through. I had watched the humans come a long way since I was on Earth.
Yura tried speaking to me and I put my hand up to let her know to stop, giving my brain a second to decipher, then nodded at her, โWhat did you say?โ
โI was saying, itโs interesting you can learn languages so quick. The land you love so much, what language do they speak there?โ
โThere werenโt many people, if any. I honestly donโt recall seeing a single hut around.โ I said.
โThat would be fill me with happiness to be the first person to discover a land,โ Yura said.
โIt does fill you with happiness,โ Mylicious said, โI was happy when I found the land of cold.โ
โDidnโt you imprison yourself at first?โ Yura asked confused.
โYes, my happiness was short-lived,โ he joked.
We walked just outside of the town, where Mylicious wanted to rest until night fall. There were plenty of woods around and shrubbery and after a few hours of sitting in tall grass, the wildlife started to appear more.
โYou know, I donโt remember making a lot of wolves on this side of the ocean. Most people donโt survive the bite and the ones that did survive I believe were hunted down or didnโt want anything to do with me. I thought at first I was offering them a gift,โ Mylicious said.
โItโs not a gift, if you force it on them,โ I spoke up.
โI know, I learned that over time and when I met Mila and the rest of the pack, I asked them and gave them a choice,โ his voice was thick with sorrow.
โWhat if they said no after you offered? Would you have killed them?โ I was stirring up trouble because I was bored.
โWhat other choice would I have had?โ a small growl came from him.
โGlad I didnโt say no,โ Yura glared at him after his words.
โYou are stirring up trouble brother, be glad you never have to make choices like this, then again, knowing you canโt bring others into your world like Derium and I, must really weigh heavy on your mind,โ his word-daggers hit their intended mark, and I shut my mouth. Yura picked up on my hurt and put her hand on my leg.
โAt least you donโt have to change me for anything,โ she smiled at me while speaking.
โOh Yura, you act is if heโs sticking around after this,โ Myliciousโs word-daggers continued.
โWhy does he have to stick around there, maybe it will be I who sticks around with him,โ Yura had some word-daggers of her own that shut Mylicious up.
I smiled and looked at Yura, it was nice to have someone on my side from time to time. It didnโt seem like too much longer that the sun started to set. Mylicious moved, keeping his steps light. Yura and I followed, also keeping our steps light. They could see a lot better than I could, so I stayed in the back. It wasnโt but a few steps later that torches began to get lit up around the huts.
There were many huts, with doors that faced us, Mylicious veered away from those and scouted
