a check on them. The cars belonged to Audrey and awoman named Samantha Tyler. He then did a little bit ofinvestigating. Little was right, because unfortunately, his workended there. He knew nothing about Royce.

An hour later, I had given them everything. Royce’sand Audrey’s phone logs, Royce's passport forging information, theinformation on the imported Asian girl, the possible Christianconnection, emails, bank statements, and a list of ten suggestionswhere they should begin. I gave them the address of Royce’s othercondo in Indiantown, which could be where the ring sent the tricksto be serviced. Then, I asked all three, “Well, what do you think? Will you be able to arrest and convict?”

“You know,” Lieutenant Newmanbegan, “it’s very difficult to prove prostitution.” My heart sankas I prepared to hear the usual runaround. Everything about ourmeeting had seemed different, serious, dangerous, and possible. Now, it seemed I would be hearing the same excuses.

“They can say they’re running a‘dating service,’ ” he continued. “It’s not illegal to pay someoneto come to your house and be your date for the evening, or to dancefor you. That’s how the over 200 escort services in southernFlorida stay in business. However, we’ll take this case. Georgewill begin investigating, doing surveillance on Audrey and hergirls, and try to build a case. Don’t expect results overnight. But, sometimes the girls or the pimps get sloppy.”

“Should I be optimistic, orpessimistic?” I asked.

By this time, their original scowls had disappeared, and Lt. Newman smiled and said, “Optimistic.”

And that was it. I shook their hands, and thankedthem for their time. Before I got out of the SUV, however, I toldthem my motive for coming. “You might think I’m a disgruntledhusband, but that’s not it. I’ll have no problem winning my divorcecase with Audrey. I’m simply a concerned citizen, doing my civicduty.”

They replied that they wished there were more peoplelike me, and warmly wished me well. I got out of their car andslowly walked back to mine. I wondered what they might now besaying behind closed doors. In any case, it was in their hands now.The die had been cast and I couldn't undo what I had done.

On my drive home I sensed thatsomething had changed. My secret meeting with the Spencer Countypolice left me feeling different, altered, and completely unsure ofwhere I should go from here. When I got home, I put a call intoTerri Lynn and began my fifth reading with her.

March 21, 2010: The Fifth Reading

TERRI - It feels to me like something has shifted.

PAUL - Really? What?

TERRI - Because investigation is underway, Audrey might be arrestedand therefore safe, not killed. Here's the thing. Her death by thattrick has gone from me seeing it clearly happening, to me seeingthat she's no longer in that situation. By going to the police, youmay actually have changed her destiny.

PAUL - Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I mean, is she nowgoing to prey on innocent men for the next twenty years?

TERRI - No, no, I don't see that. I think she's going to get a lotof time. I'm hearing the word "conspiracy." That charge brings itto a higher level of prosecution. Or, she still could get killed, just not in that way. Her negative karma is still overwhelming.Let's see what else is going on. Audrey picked you because shethought you were weak, and she thought you were stupid.. You hadassets, and were totally blown away by her. So, the thing is,you've turned into "The Wrath of Khan." All along, you had what Iwould call "quiet strength," but your strengths were like pillarsof steel. Since you're never in EGO, you never find a need to tellanyone else how strong you are.Understand?

PAUL - Yes.

TERRI - In some ways, though, you were a little bit of a victim, and you are a victim no more. You are totally empowered now.Right?

PAUL - I would say so, yes.

TERRI - So, you have got the change in you, going from a victim tobecoming empowered. That's a story in itself, your transformation.I mean, I can see you growing horns from your ears, meaning, youare the sweetest, nicest guy, but don't screw with me. So, what shedid was she f**ked with the wrong person. And here she is with allthese hugely powerful, don't screw with us men behind her, andended up picking one, who was a "don't screw with me" man, but sheread you wrong, totally wrong.

PAUL - That's for sure.

TERRI - Hang on... a possibility. What I see happening now, is thatthe organization which is behind her, and she may or may not evenhave knowledge about it, once the shit hits the fan, they're notgoing to come after you, they're going to come after her!

PAUL - Well, I'm glad Johnny and I are not in any danger fromRoyce.

TERRI - No, and do you know whyyou're not in danger?

PAUL - No, why?

TERRI - Because she has painted you as such a wimp, to him. "He'sjust a house painter. He's done well for himself so I'm going totake him to the cleaners" is what she told him. She really paintedyou like a "nebbish," and you're not, oh my GOD you're not. You'rescary. I mean you are. You are scary in your empowerment. I meanthis is a really huge turning point for you, too.

PAUL - Terri, I found a fax from Albert Chang to Royce asking fora status report on a passport and visa, and a photo of an Asiangirl, in Royce's garbage. On the top of the fax was Chang's emailaddress, and when I put it into Google, up popped a countrywideChristian organization. Can you tell me what this allmeans?

TERRI - The girl is a prostitute from Southeast Asia. They getexisting prostitutes and ask them if they want to come to the U.S.and make a lot more money. They give them new identities, and bringthem in. Royce is only one pimp of many. This ring is nationwide. There is so much business, they can't keep up with it. They needmore and more girls. The base of operations is inEngland.

PAUL - Is Royce the head of it?

TERRI - No, Royce
