of my wife consumes me. All I know is that Twirl is my nirvana, my home, and when she whispers, I love you, I close my eyes as my orgasm slams into me with the force of a freight train.

I feel every spurt leave me and soak her walls. I’m buried deep, arching to embed every last drop deep inside her warmth. She’s tight and clenching, shivering as aftershocks run through her.

We’re a mess. Slick with sweat. And the room smells like sex.

Christ, what did I do to deserve this exquisite woman?

“ARE YOU READY to eat?” I ask a little while later from our position on the Murphy bed we’ve never used before. My voice is low while my fingers trace his abs, counting each twitch of his hard cock and the way he groans the lower I skim. He’s ready for round two. His need matches mine. “Because I—”

“How well did you know the Tillis brothers? How did you meet?” Malcolm interrupts, while I expected this question and detect a hint of anger, it’s not toward me. Never toward me. His tone, though, makes me look up and our eyes meet. His expression is neutral, a perfect picture of the composed businessman the world sees day in and day out: serious and jaw ticking and lips pursing just a tiny bit. The thought of food evaporates, and another hunger takes over as my mouth waters. “Tell me.”

“Now? Can’t this be...” I trail off at the shake of his head and the sly smirk that overtakes his features. He knows what he does to me. How weak I am against him. A sigh escapes, and my eyes narrow. “Unfortunately, they were acquaintances of Alton.” Even though he’s dead, just saying his name leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Looking away, I focus on the taut skin I’m caressing as my mind wanders: it makes me question the what ifs. Where would I be now if this wonderful man hadn’t overtaken my world—saved me from a nightmare I would’ve never survived? “They’d come to the house here and there. Smoke up and drink...bet on whatever game was playing, while I’d be forced to cook.”

“He’s dead, baby.” A finger on my chin turns my face toward his. The smile on his handsome face is sweet. “And anyone who threatens what’s mine will also die. That’s my promise to you.”

“I know you will.” His death made me a murderer. Took my innocence, but it also brought me peace, just like Malcolm—his love and safety—gave me back my freedom. A wave of emotion hits me then, and my eyes tear up. This man is my everything. “I love you, Malcolm. If I don’t say it enough, please know that you are my world. Our life: the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s my perfect version of a fairy tale.”

“Come here.” It’s a command. The heavy timbre of his voice is rough, a rumbling up his chest that makes me shiver. It’s need and hunger and so much love that a tear falls. This is a moment I’ll never forget. With both hands on my shoulders, he pulls me up until our chests meet. Until our lips hover and we share the same breath while his cock nestles between my wet slit. “Better?”

“Much.”

“Tell me, Twirl.”

“You know?” There’s a twinkle in his eye I’ve never been blessed with seeing before. There’s a happiness in his expression that makes my chest clench. Thank you, God, for putting me in his path.

“I’ve known since the day they stopped you outside of Dr. Tamai’s office.”

“You suck, babe.” I snort, shaking my head while jabbing a finger into his side. He laughs, and the movement rubs his thickness where I’m most sensitive and I’m forced to bite back a whimper, choosing instead to focus on the puzzle pieces that are coming together. I’ve noticed his overprotectiveness heightened over the last two weeks, but never put two and two together. Now, though, it makes sense. Did Gina tell him? “Who told?”

“We’ll get back to that in a minute.” He didn’t need to say the words. I understood that he wanted an explanation from my point of view. My mock glare didn’t deter him either. “Patience, sweet girl.”

“Does this matter?”

“Yes.”

“Okay.” Nodding, I pull back a bit and move to straddle his thighs. We’re still close, but I can focus better without feeling his hard cock right against my mound. “They asked for five million and a threesome...” strong hands grip my waist, and the nails dig in slightly, Malcolm’s body beneath mine coiling in anger “...in exchange for some video they claimed to have of me taking a shower in Mom’s house.”

“That was a lie.”

“No tape?”

“No.”

“Did you dump them, or?”

“Javi and Carmelo placed them there personally.”

“Thank you.”

“Only you would thank me for killing someone.” The amusement dies as soon as he’s finished speaking. Hard eyes demand answers. “Why didn’t you come to me, Twirl? What if they—”

Lowering my face down to his, I peck his lips while dodging his attempt to deepen the kiss. He’s no longer serious, but a smidge annoyed with how easy I calm him. “Mr. Asher, we both know you wouldn’t let a fly touch me.”

“No. I wouldn’t.”

“So I was never in any danger, my prince charming.”

“I’m more beast than prince, Twirl. We’ve discussed this.”

“And yet, I call bullshit.” There’s a soft knock on the door and I sit up, my slickness rubbing his shaft at the abrupt move. His hands grip me, hold me in place when I try to stand. “Umm, I need to get that.”

“Later, Mrs. Asher. You have some more—”

“Malcolm, I’m starving.” Whatever he sees on my face suddenly makes him laugh. It’s loud and shakes us both, creating friction that’s making me lose my
