inner light warmed him from the inside out.

“Alright, I’ll tidy everything up and shore up the back door.” Adrian explained before picking up his bag beside and leaving the room.

Thane knew that he was going to try to contact the Hunters. They needed to figure out what the best option was for Sophie. They might be able to take her to the mansion. That would be safest, although it would bring them to the Alliance’s attention if followed.

Already the Hunters were there, watching the house. They arrived with Thane and Adrian. They had followed Sophie into town to make sure that she was safe.

Thane would have to thank them for that.

It didn’t take an excessive amount of time to get Sophia into the shower, although it was abnormally small. It was not a shower built for two people, especially not one his size. He wouldn’t be able to stay in this house for any length of time.

The water was hot as it streaked over their skin. He turned so that she could get the most of the water, facing her towards him so that he could wet her hair.

Sophia’s face was hesitant, and he wondered suddenly if there was something that she wanted to know.

“Ask.” He told her, grabbing a bottle of something that looked like hair soap and squirting some into his hand. It smelled flowery and he was sure that it was the scent of her hair. “Whisper.”

She opened her mouth, as if she was about to argue, and then nodded. “It’s nice to spend time with you,” she mouthed, and he had to agree. She spent quite a bit of time with Adrian while he was busy. He enjoyed alone time with her as well.

Sophia let him lean her head back and rinse her hair. He paid special attention to the task, feeling the need to do a good job. It was difficult because he really wanted to watch the water move down her body.

When her head moved back up, he caught her eye and tried to smile. He didn’t make that particular facial expression often, however he felt that it was the correct thing to do when he felt content. It would not be correct to draw attention to the ache in his penis. Although he knew that Adrian would have chosen the second option.

“Tell be about Falling. Was it really bad?” Sophie mouthed, and Thanatos was glad that he didn’t take the opportunity to look at her body at that moment. She might feel as if he was ignoring her for the physical and he didn’t want to make her feel bad.

He could not look her in the eyes while explaining, he needed to do something with his hands. So, he reached down to get the soap.

“Horrible” he told her, squeezing some of the body wash into his hand. “Overwhelming.” It had been the worst experience of his life. That amount of emotion could not exist inside a Human being at once. He had recently realized that if they occurred as the experiences had, it would have been bearable. The amount flooding him all at once was excruciating.

His mind and body had not been prepared for that amount of stimulation and it could not keep up.

“Had felt nothing before.” He had survived thousands of years with rational thoughts without feelings. He had killed many Demons without thinking about their lives. He had even killed Humans who were in the way. Too many beings had lost their lives in the battles he had witnessed.

“Regret, grief, confusion, anger.” They were things that he had never considered. They were emotions that he didn’t even have the ability to identify. “Agony.” His mind could not have accepted everything. He had lost consciousness.

“Woke later.” He still was not sure if it had been days later, or months later. He didn’t ask Adrian. He didn’t want to know. The weakness left him ashamed. That was an emotion he didn’t want to feel.

With soap on his hands, he ran them along her body. He would rather pay attention to her curves than to the events of the past long ago.

A feminine hand touched his shoulder, bringing his attention back to her face.

“I’m so sorry.” He read her lips, and then saw the sincerity in her eyes.

And suddenly he wanted to give her something in return.

Thane turned her around, pulling her back to his front so that she faced the water. It was at the right height to hit her breasts, and the sensation caused her to gasp. “Trust.”

He then let his hands caress her luscious breasts, feeling the tips harden into points. It was difficult not to lift her and penetrate her. It took all his focus to keep his hands unhurried. She deserved this. She deserved so much more.

He took his time feeling the slight give in her tender flesh, massaging the globes gently. Then his hands moved to pay more attention to her nipples. He could see the color in his mind. They were flush, dark and beautiful. They would get rosier as he plucked them, the blood rushing to the area. They felt perfect in his fingers as he squeezed gently, her indrawn breath and writhing hips betraying her desire.

“Nice. Responsive.” He told her, running his nose against the sensitive skin behind her ear. She smelled of flowers and desire. The unique blend of scents was irresistible, drawing him to kiss the shell of her ear.

His left hand then moved down her body, feeling her slightly rounded stomach. She wasn’t showing yet, he knew, but he could imagine the baby growing inside of her. It didn’t matter who provided the DNA, if she would let them, he and Adrian would be the fathers.

He would give her everything, and Adrian would agree in time.

Sophie moved against him, pressing back into him,
