Adobe Garamond is a revival typeface based upon the designs of sixteenth-century French punch engraver Claude Garamond. Garamond was one of several active artisans working in the early modern period of typeface design, which built upon the work of fifteenth-century Italian printer Aldus Manutius and his punchcutter, Francesco Griffo.

Gitan was designed by Florian Runge in 2016 for the Rosetta type foundry, and its cuneiform head serifs and deeply cut wedge terminals are reminiscent of stone carving and hand-painted signage. Florian Runge is an independant type designer who regularly collaborates with design studios and type foundries around the world.
