Hearts are fragile
like glass
Hearts are delicate
like glass
Love wilts
Love dies
Yet love is
Eternal
Love is mysterious
will steal your heart
when you least expect it
It is masked
And is never seen
But when it is
It will be in your dreams
(Couldnt think of a good ending for that 1)
People
Try
But no one Can see it coming
It is not an object
It is not a thing
But it is there
Always there
Waiting.
His heart is like stone
It sinks when thrown
Its shell never breaks
For it has no heartaches
It only hurts
Those unfortunate souls
Who try to get close
And end up
Sticks and Stones
Stick and Stone
A life
without meaning
isnt alive
But an empty shell
Its there
Its breathing
Its blinking
But its not alive
Just an empty shell
using up space
using up energy
using up everything
And You
stuck in the middle
forced to fill the empty voids
Left by It
for You
To clean up
After It
For You
To take care
Of It
while It sits there
Just an empty shell
With No Meaning
No Life
No Nothing
He is there
at the corner
of that counter
With Her
They talk
They laugh
They smile
at each other
Oblivious
Of Me
Watching them
Watching him
Watching her
lean in
Her blonde hair falls over
Covering the evidence
Like she knows I'm Watching
And I stare
all I can do is stare
because what I know
is
He will come home
at early in the morning
like another long day
eat remaining food from dinner
and sleep
Like nothing happened
But I know
I had known
What he really does
for a long time now
and all he says is
"Late night at work."
and all I say is
"Go to bed, honey."
I am sick
of it
of him
of the house
of everything
it is Claustrophobic now
Me working constantly
He doing nothing at all
says he got laid off because of
no business at work
But there stands the store
A sign saying,
"Expanding: Need Good Work"
I am sick
I need to leave
To never come back
To be free
From the screaming
The hitting
The everything
I am leaving
And i am not coming back
It reads just two words:
We're done.
My heart breaks
like an antique
How insensate
of him
not having the guts
To do it in person
But hides behind a screen
For all to see
For already having so many likes
and few dislikes
For me to read it last
As it glows on my screen
Taunting me
Haunting me
Daring me to strike back
But what can I do?
We're done.
He comes through the door
dressed in a black suit
says he is a friend of my mothers
I'm not oblivious
I see
who he really is
He sits down next to my mom
Talks to her
Has inside jokes with her
Mother stops checking on me at night
says I'm too old
I look out the window
wondering when he will leave
but his car sits still
in the driveway
as it gets dark
and my eyes become droopy
and the car never leaves
it stays
all night
all day
all week
all month
i wake up to find boxes near the door
Mother says its his stuff
i ask if he his going to be my brother
she says
something like that
she is lying
they are all lying
and when i hear
The truck pull in
And the announcement
When they finally stop the lies
I run
I never stop
I cant
And i didnt
Her beauty
it is soft
Yet it is daring
Her will
Is like a blossom
But with a blossom
comes thorns
Her hair
Innocent as the day
Mysterious as the night
Her eyes
Swimming oceans
With unknown thoughts inside
She is a contradiction
and with contradictions
comes both sides
What you can never know
which one will come next
And that is why
She is the apple in my eye
The key to my heart
The only one
Of moving me
One with a heart
of stone
