Authors Note:

Well it’s been sometime since I wrote a poem.

All I wanted to say was please give this book a chance and take a few minutes of your time to read it because it really does mean a lot to me. This is the stepping stone to get to the other side. It’s hard to explain, but the truth is when I write anything I pour everything into that piece of write especially poetry so it would mean a lot to me if you could read it and leave a little comment at the end.

Thank you very much.

Something New:

I have come to notice that most people use poetry as a way to let their emotions flow, a way to shield them from the outside world. Well that’s not quite what poetry is all about, yes you may use it for your own painful emotions, and yes let yourself craft those words into something beautiful. However not all poems are so deep and dark. I myself write deep and dark poems, poems I don’t I would let people read because they sound insane, something that sounds nothing like me. But I have decided to write something different, something new.

The Light

I see the light,

I’m caught in its brightness.

I reach out,

I feel the warmth.

It almost feels like home,

Like it was made for me,

I smile to myself before leaping towards it.

It catches me in its embrace.

I let it consume me.

I let it fill me with happiness,

I no longer let the darkness in.

I am free.

I let the freedom devour me.

I AM THE LIGHT.
