If you should ever change your mind.
Decide to comeback, to a love gone blind.
I'm almost sure you'll find...

I'm not that guy you once knew.
He wasn't good for me, and he was no good to you.
perhaps, you meant it, but maybe you love me too.

I did the best that I could do.
In always loving you,
but now the cold wind blows.
I'm lost, and God only knows.

If things could have been another way.
You and me, and the things we'd say.
Love was lost, but hadn't gone away.

Maybe I forgot why I loved you so.
Things fell apart, and I didn't know.
I thought we needed room to grow.

A piece of my heart has remained broken.
Somewhat like a reminder, or a token.
When life wins the pot, it's not joking.

Have you seen her lately,
I heard she had a baby.
I don't know, maybe...
Inside I was going crazy.

Another day, and another story.
Nobody survives in past glory.
Especially when you think so gory.

Two packs a day, and the truth is,
the highway goes my way.
They ride for free,
but would never stay. That's A-OK.

She thinks I still care.
Is that really fair?
I would never compare.
I mean, how could I dare.

I've been in different places.
Found pocket aces.
While looking into other's faces.

I never found the satisfaction in my heart.
Perhaps, I knew I never would, from the start.
Things really are built, for us to break apart.

I know I really loved you back then.
When I think about it, or remember when.
It's easier not to think about it, but then again.

I never really expected to win.
Deal me in, and let's try again.
