Midnight Lullaby (Triquatrain)
I tried to tell you something surreal, but tonight his hand can feel
everything that has gone wrong throughout the days.
I tried to tell you that you were wrong, but tonight he sings his song
of nothing but the raven and dreams decay.
I told you to look beyond the shadowed gate, to where I silently wait
for your hand to suddenly touch me today.
Your mind was lost in a realm of dreams, a place where my angel screams
for mercy from his tortured painting so gay.
He sings a sad song to the sky, just like the tune of a midnight lullaby
just for you, my hurtful and depressing ways.
He tells you lies of mourning sleep, a palace where my willows weep
for a silent breeze to blow me so astray.
Tonight the midnight hour passes me by, his deadly midnight lullaby
softly cradles this abandoned soul today.
You can't tell me what went wrong, when you never heard his song
of a nighttime demon that came here to prey.
Within the hearts of a selfish cry, to the gleaming in his scarlet eye,
I whisper not a word to your dreams today.
I heard you mourn for your lost sight, to the palace of a dying midnight
for nothing but this damned girl in disarray.
Now I laugh at your pitiful grave, beside the ocean of my dying waves
since I knew you were my stone angel's decay.
I now know you were another loss, because I did not see you cross
into the realm of colorful dreams today.
Before I Fly Away
The darkness is coming; this pen keeps scribbling
words across this soiled page.
I cannot see through the bleak waves of the midnight;
only this book lights the way.
This diary of dreams holds me so close tonight;
I think not to let dreams go.
I want to share my dreams of my graceless angels,
the ones that will come to me.
I know you can't see me in this abyssal room.
The darkness wants to kill me!
But you can't see me suffocate beneath the stars;
catch me before I fly away.
I know you sought the love of my tender soul,
but the shadows ate me alive.
Now I feel like a little girl lost in a dream.
The darkness cares about nothing but itself.
I tried to hold onto the dreams that I had,
but so many tried to tear me down.
This room is my cage and I can't escape it.
Save me before I drift away.
Take this princess in sparkling pink,
remove her from this nightmare that I live.
Murder the beast that ravaged my spirit.
I can't bear to stare into those broken mirrors.
The shadows can stay with me if they want to,
they can follow me down the path of shame.
They can carry nothing but sorrow and pain with
them; so hold me tight before I fly away.
Grasp the thorns of this rose and let me feel pain;
I feel nothing but the sorrow the darkness carries.
I want to die, yet I want to fly into the sky.
Come with me; sing me a lullaby before I fly away today.
Love, Butterfly (A Ballad)
Butterfly, my butterfly, will you carry me away?
This is heart is stone and these shadows stay.
I want freedom and I want to rejoice!
But, my butterfly, I haven't a voice.
I call to you through a tempest full of rain.
I call to you with a glistening pain.
This life of love can't carry no more.
I whisper tales from beyond this door.
My tale is now hidden with harmless shame
These emotions I feel will not be tame.
I wish to you like a falling star,
a portrait of Heaven goes that far.
Evening sunsets reveal my loss and love.
I spill my heart to the storms above.
My guardian has failed to come to me tonight.
This candle long dead sheds no light.
He was dear to me and all so kind,
yet his remains the soldiers did find.
His bones brought back in a casket's conceal.
My true love, with a tear revealed.
I mourned his death day and night,
lost within my dead candlelight.
I feared what was to happen and what to do,
but, my butterfly, my loss is true.
There's not a man who can feel my pain,
through horrid guillotines and immortal rain.
Here's a message my heart will keep.
My doves cry and my willows weep.
To you, here's a note with my heart.
This tale forbidden has torn me apart.
Let me sign my soul to the sky;
here you go: Love, Butterfly.
Heartless Butterflies
Beneath these trees, the sunshine sparkles.
Those butterflies, they fly so happily today.
The silence can't contain the
darkness from killing them all.
So let's rip away their wings; they
can die before the shadows overcome.
So let's rip off their wings; let them
perish with the dying sun today.
When they're all gone and the black
ones fly into the abyss,
we know that we're still here, breathing life.
Their gods of shameless desire have stolen
anyway; they took our insatiable love.
The grave calls for me now; our
heartless butterflies couldn't save us.
Tonight, I pray for you. I wish upon
the last black butterfly for your soul.
Rip away his wings with bloodshot eyes behind a black veil,
and don't let him go...
Dream
I feel no more pain, the light is gone.
I've lost my way in the dead of night.
Take me away, take me away;
give me wings and let me take flight.
Tell me this is just another dream;
tell me I'm not really leaving you.
At least tell me goodbye before
you fade from my darkening view.
I couldn't hear you when you said goodnight.
So cradle my body when I flee.
A dream came true, and now I'm gone.
All that's left is a memory.
Where Angels Die
As I look out over the sea,
I see a bird fall from the sky.
I stand near a midnight beauty,
the landing where His angels die.
They fall and scream, their broken wings
falling apart, fading away.
A voice on a winter breeze sings
to the angels of yesterday.
They cry no more, but I still do.
Feathers float to where I once stood.
Black clouds have murdered the still blue
where angels die; it rains for good.
Pain fills the thrashing ocean's song,
crimson tears fall from the black sky.
Stillborn hearts beat---here they belong,
beyond a world where angels die.
