I close my eyes
And them open them.
As if it were a dream,
You walked away,
With nothing to say.
I needed closure,
But you won’t let go.
You tell me you love me,
But that you just don’t know.
Every memory,
Turned into darkness,
Pulling me down ,
So cold and so heartless.
As days go by you wonder why,
You chose to walk away.
You thought you’d be happy,
But you’re not ok.
My heart is taken,
It is not yours to keep.
I am twisted in a labyrinth
Of ever lasting confusion.
Was our love real?
Or just an allusion?
The bruises on my wrists,
Bleed through my heart.
I never thought you’d say goodbye,
That we would fall so far apart.
It hurts to let go of an unsaved life,
Filled with so much unhappiness, hurt, and strife.
I tried to help you with all of your mistakes,
But you pushed me further into rage and hate.
Did her lips taste better than mine?
Did you think I wouldn’t find out,
That everything would be fine?
Consider this my goodbye,
I can no longer cry.
I tried so hard to fix your pain,
Now I stand alone, screaming in the rain.
Yet all people hear,
Is the silence you left me in.
I’ve found so much more,
Than you could have ever given me.
He makes me feel alive,
Happy.
So although we have broken dreams,
And words left unspoken,
So it seems,
I’ll love you forever,
Please let me go.
This hurt is no longer something,
That I need to know.
Is this your truth, beyond all of your lies?
