'Broken'
Julie's mother went wild,
when the divorce was filed,
she smiled, then hugged her child.
Spending the night since they were eight,
Julie's mom let them stay up late,
all the girls thought she was great.
Her mom told her she could have the house,
you'll do fine but, I'm moving out,
Seeing you girls half dressed sleeping on the floor,
I can't even bring a man here anymore,
your tight little bodies, they hope to score,
not the old flabby one, the young little whore.
They don't respect you, or love me,
but I need that attention you see,
when your looks are gone, where will you be?
Julie got the house, mother took the car,
sometime life shows you, just where you are,
how little you've come, or just how far.
Julie's friend is on coke, that's no joke,
went through her college fund, now she's broke.
one friend couldn't watch the dreams go up in smoke.
Give her a place to stay,
your mom moved out anyway,
on the bed they'd lay,
looking towards a better day,
Romeo might sweep them away.
There really is no happy end,
when the bottle is your best friend,
misery is it's next of kid.
She tried to get a ride north of town,
swingers looking for pleasure, she was found,
where are you going?
easy baby, we're just riding around.
Hold this cup while I pour a drink,
she didn't really have time to think,
he hit that car so hard, her life is on the brink.
Julie found out her friend's life was on the line,
all she could think is it should be mine,
Julie had helped her but, she needed a different kind, of help this time.
The doctor came out to say she's dead,
everyone cried, then Jimmy said,
"She's in heaven with uncle Ted."
Julie told her mother she could have the house back,
she went to her room, then began to pack.
Julie's mother knew she wasn't a fool,
her daughter was headed off to school,
the girl's mind had always been her tool,
that and the fact, she could keep her cool.
Insecurity was natures main quest,
something her mother tried to confess,
she was on the open road, forget the rest.
"Thank you God, I know I've been blessed."
"The Bully"
The other kids hated him bad,
he'd push them around, making them mad,
telling them everything he had.
Charlie tells Tina, as they make love in bed,
I'd like to put a bullet in the side of his head,
wouldn't we all be better of if the Bully was dead?
I know this guy who might help us out,
a thug in the suburbs, who knows what it's about,
the guy has tattoos and is evil, no doubt.
We need your help to kill this guy,
it'd be best if we didn't say why,
I need to know, if you want him to die.
He makes fun of Charlie because Tina is fat,
if you don't see something wrong with that,
he treats George like a door mat,
he's the dog and we're the cat.
We need a plan to see where we're at,
what are you gonna do, kill'em with a baseball bat?
Watch his brains go splat, or something like that,
throw his body in the ponds where the gators are at.
That's what we'll do,
you both go get him, just the two of you,
drive him out to the ponds, to be through.
Jenny will let us know when to move in,
you guys screw this up, don't ask me again,
get the knife out George, it about to begin.
Tell your fat girlfriend I'm driving the car,
Jenny looked over and back, saying the hell you are.
move you fat bitch, before you push me too far.
Charlie looked over as if to say it's alright,
he will never treat us this way after tonight.
George is at the ponds, we need to pick him up,
he pulled down too far, and his car got stuck.
If it was anyone else I wouldn't give a fuck,
George though has the worst of luck.
The bully had put George to the test,
demanded that he get undressed,
the Bully wanted to know if he was blessed.
Come on man, I didn't know you were gay,
you're the first one to make me feel this way,
but I'm straight and don't want to play.
Too bad, I want to see you nude today.
George really wanted to kill, Jenny gave the sign,
he moved in quickly, stabbing him in his spine.
Charlie swung the bat into the side of his head,
kept on hitting him to make sure he was dead.
Now let's throw him in the pond so the gators get fed.
We need to make an alibis,
girl don't you cry,
you wanted him to die,
I don't care why,
Let's just figure out the lie.
Life in the pen, did they win?
If released would they do it again?
Justified murder is still a sin.
"Holding the Light"
Come with me today, you don't have to stay,
it's all about the game you play,
the opinions you sway,
I know you wish I'd go away,
the situation is much too gray.
Remember her, you told her you were in love,
now you can see it from up above,
it was a lie, like OJ's glove.
What about this one you sick SOB,
you drugged her, then took her virginity,
open your eyes, so you can see.
Look at this one, she was underage,
no we will not turn the page,
you could have ended up in the cage.
This was a pretty good girl,
before she met you, look what you made her do,
I must confess, I am somewhat ashamed of you.
This girl's brother hates your guts,
not that you care, his sisters are sluts,
not that it matters, your lie still cuts.
This girl's parents thought you were a good guy,
what they thought was built from a lie,
look closely, this is why.
This one told you she was going to have your baby,
you shouted in her face, "You must be crazy!"
Why does this not amaze me?
Should we keep going, there is more,
you are the one who was the whore,
kid taking candy, at the candy store.
There is something deep, you'll never see.
You can't blame me, I let you be free,
the reasons you're coming back to me.
Now your headstone is under the maple tree.
Failure to Stop
We have come too far to turn back,
failing to understand what we lack,
watching the feelings slide through the crack,
pent up rage as he tries to attack.
She made me smile for awhile,
living in denial,
the problems began to pile,
it was for real, not a trial.
I'd visit her one time a day,
let her know I too felt that way,
freedom has costs we pay.
One foot in front of the other,
go to see the cities mother,
nobody seen me undercover.
So many times we fail to see,
growing confusion it will be,
not just you, but also me.
Innocents gone before they got lost,
the violence must stop at any cost.
