Delivering soothing calm memories into my body and soul I find

As we run up and down the stairs until my brother stumps his toe

“It’s a thin line between love and hate” leaps joyfully from our neighbor’s front door

They’re playing it so many times we just couldn’t take it anymore

Little brother covers his long pointed ears and screams, “Stop!”

His temper is so explosive it doesn’t take much for him to blow his top

Aretha Franklin is belting out “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” on our new stereo

Hearing her sing made even brother begin to dance, look at his feet go!

Mother and father are both dancing to “Rock the Boat” in the den

Sister peeps in the room at them and starts to chuckle and grin

Auntie’s in the basement sewing a new dress for her high school prom

As she wiggles and shakes her hair to the Beatles singing “All my lovin” to her boyfriend Tom

Precious song memories are stored in all of our inner most parts

Just think about it and search deep into the depths of your heart
