My Inspiration

You are the one
that lifts me up,
when life has struck me
and I’m down.
And when my head’s
above the clouds,
you put my feet back
on the ground.
You are the saviour
of my mind,
my twisted thoughts,
you set them straight.
And when my soul
sets out to wander,
you’ll catch it ‘fore
it goes astray.
You are the ultimate
physician,
a witch, a sorceress
in one,
your remedy
has healed my heart,
the spell you cast
can’t be undone.
You are the light
that shines on me,
the soothing darkness
easing me.
You are the cause
that keeps me going,
the very reason
why I see.
You are my inspiration,
my friendly muse,
a dream come true.
For never could I
write these words,
if it was not
for you.
