The End of My...


Everything is a blur I could not form
a thought, my head was in turmoil.

Tormented, and so confused I just
stumbled out of the bungalow.
Going down the winding path with
no idea of what lies ahead.

The smell of the ocean was drifting
through the air.
I breathed it in wanting to hold it captive.
Surely this is a scent of heaven.


Submerging my bare feet in the wet sand.
Sinking in, feeling the sheer liquid
coolness as it soothes my being.


Closing my eyes I could hear the ocean,
calling me as it has many times before.
With unbridled force the water crashes
against the jutting rocks.

I've tramped forever, my legs ached,
and the water
was no longer in my sight.

Coming to the end of a road,
where I might rest,
closing my eyes for a brief time.

I awaken with pain and feeling strange
unable to guess how long had I slept.

I am submerged in green life with vines
and plants swathing my body.
Unable to break free the vines now a part
of me, like my veins.




I am the soils prisoner.
