As a child
The air never felt cold
Nor did I ever feel winter’s sting
While Laying in the snow
Making angel’s wings
Embracing the purity of the fresh fallen snow
I grow cold and share with my angel
A secret that only we would know
As I lay down in the comfort of my angel’s embrace
Warm blood spreads
While tears freeze upon my face
My angel has grown
Her wingspan is too wide
Her feathers never touch
No longer welcoming me inside
Though I seek shelter from the cold
