A LIE

I cheated; so what?
I lied; of course!
She cried; uh huh.
Do I care; ha ha.
Unlikely.

Why? You ask.
Because that’s life
You screw; you are bound to get screwed
Simple, isn’t it?
Then why the furor?

The strife- that’s life
If you can’t handle the heat
Don’t try to cook.
I say that and sound mean
But that’s just the way life should be
I mean is.

I broke her heart, ok
Have I remorse
I don’t know.
But would I do it again?
Definitely maybe!


THE SECRET

I wasn’t always like this
Once I believed in it
In love.
In the simple joy of the word
And the complicated feel of the emotion.

I was a sucker for it
I was a sucker for her
And it hurt when her part
In my story ceased to work.

She left I wept and swore
To never regret a decision
A liaison; an affair; a fling.
Take that you will; use what you will
But never give away enough
To be the one left feeling the pinch.


A TRUTH

I am tired of the playing
Different women
Different gaming.
Same rules separate playing fields.

I want to gasp if I don't see her
And stop and stare when I do.
I want to miss her when I’m not with her
And go crazy when I am near her.

I’d like to wake up and find her near
And at night blow a kiss good night to my dear.
Fret and fear when I see her
In a situation that is unclear.

I want to care
I want to share
I want to be there and her to be here
I want love
I need love
And I want love to need me there.


THE MOVE

The hardest thing I ever had to do
Is pretend to have no emotions
To act like I don’t care
Because I do; I always have.

I am done with the pretense.
Now I want the real thing
To love and to fight
To hurt and to heal.

To be another part of a better thing
A vital cog in a mega ring.
If it hurts I will get over it
If it is right I will fight over it.

I am in a new day
And by extension new in a way
Live, Love and enjoy Life
That is the path on which
I now choose to tread.
