Winter Rush

Its been about the second week in a row i've warmed by the fireplace,
happiness, joyfulness, and warmth was spread throughout the room,
the fire was a bright orange and amber color,
it was by far beautiful,
i felt the rush of warmth on my face,
as the snow continued to fall outside,
there was absolutely nothing missing here accept for the warm taste of hot cocoa on my tounge,
but it was soon ready,
I'd perce my lips,
Take slow sips,
and enjoy the wonderouse memories brought on,
as i delightfuly accepted the winter rush.

Snow Man

It was me and my little sister,
She had never built a snow man,
I was detirmined to be her first,
We walked outside,
Grabbed some snow,
Rolled it around till it got bigger,
She was so amazed at the size and how it got that way,
We propped the biggest one on the bottom,
We gatthered more snow and rolled it around untill it got to a medium size,
She wondered why this one was smaller than the other,
I explained to her why,
We gatthered more snow and this one just packed it in tight,
She wondered why this on was the smallest,
This time i showed her,
She didn't understand why the head would be so small,
But she went along with it anyway,
She picked up some rocks,
I got a carrot from the kitchen,
She got her sparkly pink skarf,
I got the buttons from my old sweater,
we fixed his face and put the skarf on,
She was so amazed at how cool it looked,
I will never forget the smile she had on her face when she said,
Thank you.

Blankets and More

We all slept in on the cold rainy day,
All cozy in bed with blankets and more,
But we woke up for breakfast,
sat in the family room on the couches and floors,
all happy and warm,
we were all so bored,
so mom broke out the board games,
battleship, candyland, monopoly and more,
twister and scrabble it was games galore,
we all smiled and laughed at the site of eachother loosing,
but when it came to whos next it was the winner choosing,
we all got tired and laid down on the floor all cozy and happy with blankets and more.

Fascination of Snow

what was this I'd seen?
All falling from the sky,
Where the heavens were watching,
were they angels?
i had no clue,
small white flakes falling from above,
covering the ground like a white blanket,
they landed on my hat and turned to water in my glove?
what was this?
it was something completely new!
but as mother would say,
as my eyes seemed to glow,
it was my first time having the fascination of snow.

Hot cocoa

It was a cold snowy day,
We were warm by the fire,
We sat and waited for the hot cocoa,
if there was anything more we wanted than this,
it was only an epic snowball fight,
but the blizzard was tough,
when mom brought us our mugs,
we thanked her,
We let them cool,
put the cups up to our mouth,
Took long slow sips,
of what was delicious,
Refreshing and down right yummy,
it was the taste of hot cocoa warm in our tummy!
