Fear is something we all dread. Maybe you haven’t truly experienced fear yet. It happens in a blink of an eye, and may linger over you for the rest of your life. Even though these memories are undesirable and traumatic they will still leave an everlasting impression on you.
As usual I woke up at 6:00am and headed off to school, a place where I felt safe. The biggest problem of my day should have been my poor choice in shoes, but that was not the case. So there I was laughing with close friends at lunch, chatting about pointless things when, BAM! BAM! β€œEverybody get down!” My heart suddenly skipped a beat. All I could hear was horror. Not knowing what was going on behind those doors brought suspense, and without warning two boys slam through the door. It was them, the ones we called fools. The boys we teased so badly that they were willing to take our lives and then their own.
As I looked around I saw a rush of people in the hall panicking as they fell. Cries of sadness and sorrow, but on the inside the criminals felt so hollow. Burst of bombs and gunshots throughout the school, now people really hated the ones we called fools. A surge of tears fell for friends who were hurt by this sudden nightmare. These two boys had such hatred inside, for we made them feel that they wereally ren’t alive. So here I hide feeling helpless as my classmates die in fear. The survivors of the Columbine Massacre will remember that day as the most fearful day of their lives.
