Autumn Glory

Autumn breeze is blowing
Chill is in the air
Leaves are gently swirling
Scattered here and there.

People clad in jackets
Cider nice and hot
Wieners roast on the campfire
Sure does hit the spot.

Football games on Fridays
Fans can now be found
Huddled round in blankets
Rivals come to town.

Wintertime is coming
Leaves are being shed
Lovely shades of yellow
Touch of crimson red.

Frost is on the pumpkin
Hunter with his gun
Days are growing shorter
Golden fields are spun.

God is quite the artist
Paints a canopy
Adds a splash of color
For everyone to see.

It's In The Valley I Grow ....

Sometimes life seems hard to bare,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe.
It's then I have to remember ....
That it's in the valley I grow.

If always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow.
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But, it's in the valley I grow.

I do not always understand ....
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord, will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross.
He went through the valley of death:
His victory was "Satan's" loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low,
Just give me a gentle reminder ....
That it's in the valley I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know,
The mountain tops are glorious
But, it's in the valley I grow !

Wings of a Spirit ....

Sing the song of your soul.
Let it soar on the wings of your spirit.
Live the tune of your love so loud all,
The world will take notice and hear it.

The gift of your very presence.
Marks your place as a person of worth.
Rejoice and be ever grateful,
For the days of your journey on earth.

Lift yourself. Find your passion.
Decide who and what you want to become.
Create your life and move ahead,
You are not defined by where you are from.

The race of human kind is yours.
Not the boundaries of any one nation.
Stand and shine in the light of whom you are,
A beloved and glorious creation.

What Can Always Cheer Me ....

One thing can always cheer me,
When I'm feeling sad and low;
When I tire of daily trials,
That I have to undergo;
When those who should seem closet,
Seem like people I don't even know,
One thing can always cheer me,
I know that God is near me.

One thing can always cheer me,
When I don't understand;
How pain and sadness in our lives,
Can get so out of hand;
When the best human efforts,
Doesn't meet the days demands,
One thing can always cheer me,
I know that God is near me.

One thing can always cheer me,
More than anything I've known;
And show me I will never,
Have to struggle on my own.
For no matter what might ever happen,
I know I will never be alone,
The thing that always cheers me,
Is just knowing God is near me.

DOWN TO EARTH

I don't now how to say it ....
But somehow it seems to me
That maybe we are stationed,
Where God wants us to be.

That little place we are filling ....
Is the reason for our birth
And just to do the work we do,
He sent us down to earth.

If God had wanted otherwise....
I'd reckon He'd have made
Each one of us a little different,
Of a worse or better grade.

And since God knows and understands ....
All things of this land and sea
I fancy that He placed us here,
Just where He wants us to be.

Sometimes we get to thinking ....
As our labors we review
That we should like a higher place,
With greater things to do.

But we come to the conclusion ....
When the envying is still ~
That the post to which God has sent us,
Is the post He wanted filled.

And there isn't any service ....
That we honestly can surcom
For it may just be the reason,
God allowed us to become.
