Ruins
It started out like a dream
Nothing felt quite real
And then it changed
When I came back
To reality
Finding my true love was hard
And I didnβt like the walk
But when I came
To the end of the road
You were waiting there
For three long years
We shared so much
Tears, laughs, stares
I thought you were my perfect one
Guess I was wrong
I didnβt know
Whose fault it was
But I willingly took the blame
And now I wish I hadnβt
Taken what wasnβt
Rightfully mine
You never loved me
I know that now
Too bad I didnβt know before
If I did would have
Walked right out the door
I didn't know
What else to do
To make me
Stop from loving
You
You tried to leave
I tried to go
Guess I figured
We'd never let go
I know I donβt miss you
You donβt deserve
My sympathy
But now I know
You are my own worst enemy.
You built it up
You broke it down
I didnβt know what to do
How was I supposed to know
When my heart broke in two?
Looking back
Is when I see
What we never became
Iβm glad you didnβt get that far
Into your stupid game
So self-centered
I should have known
From our very first date
But I was too busy
Falling in love
With someone I should hate
You left my life
In ruins
You didnβt say goodbye
And now I really want to know
Is there a reason why?
I just can't help but notice
How stupid you really are
To think that you could
Get away while trying
to steal my heart?
