Drabble #1

Oh how soft the sand,
Oh how soft the waves.
Long tendrils of water creep up the bank.
The world around is caressed in a soft glow,
Together we await the arrival.
Slowly it touches the horizon,
A magical display of reds and oranges and yellows appears.
They mix and mold, a tie dye in the sky.
Upwards it crawls, getting bigger and bigger.
Warmth cascades through the air,
Shadows are shoved back into hiding,
They will anxiously wait for evening to come.
For now the earth will bask in the everlasting warmth.
Forever being held in the sun’s hand.

Drabble #2

High and holy it sits,
Top of the sky,
Top of it’s throne.
Untouchable by all,
All touched by it.
A King living in his glory,
A Queen savoring her own warmth.
A Prince sitting high and aloof.
The provider of light,
warmth,
And life.
A giver to earth.
A silent watcher repeating its task day after day.
A set, never ending routine.
A spectator to the world,
To generation after generation.
Life, death
Life, death
Over and over again
The sun watches us.
While it finds comfort at the top of the sky.
Sending warmth.
Sending light.
Sending love.

Drabble #3

In the final moments of the day,
The world waits.
As many settle down to endure the darkness in sleep,
Many creatures are just awakening.
Frogs croak,
Grass Hoppers begin their unending song.
Animals of the night are stretching their legs,
Preparing to kiss the sun goodbye.
At the top of sight it sits,
Pausing a moment to survey the world,
Before slowly beginning to descend.
Gradually it sinks.
Now there is only half a sun left,
Even less now.
And less.
Less.
Gone.
Over.
Dark.
But it’s glow still lingers.
The world’s in a daze,
Lost without it’s light.
