The poetries in this book were selected not only to provide pleasure but also provoke thoughts on love, romance and life, specifically human relationships.

The discerning reader will detect the different love and romance backgrounds and stylish approaches of the poet. Each poem has been chosen to ensure that a range of complexity is covered to suit all tastes. The language level varies from fairly basic to challenging.

The book includes poems that vary in length; it may prove worthwhile to assess the literary merit of each on this basis, and to ascertain what constraints the length of the poems imposes upon an author when depicting poetic devices and developing themes.

I'd like to thank all my regular readers and everybody who's been with me on this journey of completing these anthology, your love for literature or rather poetry  make me hold my pen up and bless you with letters.

Most if not all are written in first person point of view, because i personally use poetry to communicate with the outsite world, so the pieces will definitely provide you as a reader with an insight into my wonderland, and i hope you enjoy them

THEY'RE COMING

Inscriptions at the gate,

village of khelm.

The gatekeeper beheaded,

A message in his palm,

"We are coming"

Chants in the wind.

Drums of war,

Vibration of the earth,

Racing of the tiger waves.

"We are here", they said.

The dogs barked

The birds flee

The mothers killed

The children wailed

Blood flowed.

Hearts ripped apart,

The earth is tainted

coloured red.

BLEEDING SCAR

He defile it,

blood will out,

Though volition vouchsafe ostensible reasons,

It bewilders his lurking mind,

Quoted it with decrepit voice,

yet illumined.

Reasons came forth yet failed him,

Ended up deferring due to immature belief,

Dead men tell no tales, yet every why has a wherefore,

Passion with tainted understanding.

     He quoted,

Puzzled by the quotation vouchsafed,

A lifting voice of singing birds,

 β€œLove”.

he sounded as if he was a love inventor,

All that glitters is seldom gold.

It exists between co-existing hearts, yet nit-picks tormented souls,

Heart and soul condoned by the heart line,

Losers’ weepers, finders’ keepers-

Not thought tricked deed, rather voluntary tincture of beauty”

February there be no rain, β€˜tis neither good for hay nor grain.

KEG AND AGE

Spirits and tonic,

Medications to native souls,

thick saliva and creamy mucus.

Saturate the encient earth.

A stick that walks,

Heads that talk,

Mouths that stink of time,

Age winding up, as an enemy.

Downside tilt,

Emptying to fill

An empty, that will

Be emptied to fill stupor.

Gin and grin,

Staggers and swaggers,

in gutters and murky waters,

They bid.

THE RAIN'S TOUCH

The birds are singing

Legs are stroling

clouds are smiling

The skies are brightened

The birds are chirping

Legs are quickening

Clouds are bulging

The skies are blackening

The birds are fleeing

Legs are racing

clouds are dripping

The skies are thundering

The birds are screeching

Legs are stumbling

Clouds are peeing

The skies are deafening

The birds are singing

Legs are strolling

Clouds are smiling

The skies are smirking

LIFE AT THIS TIMES

Heat melts the iceberg of ages.

Clouds of uncertanity keep promising heaven,

Expectant.

In pain like a woman i labour, i wait.

When the leaves fall,

Trees are left with their shadows.

adulthood precipitates responsibilities camparison is the gasoline.

peer pressure,

The match about to start flames of frustration.

MESSIAH

The cock announces his arrival,

The birds sing him songs of praise.

Smiled with gold and warmth.

The flowers blossom,

The worms burrow

The blue of the sky

The green of the trees

The dendelions and white roses

The ladybird in scarlet and swart

They all glory in his presence.

From east to west,

He travels his passing.

Signifying the progression of the present into the future.

MY SHINE

Her mouth is a fountain of delight,

Like winter blooming pearl.

With grin blossoming on its chicks, winter blanket teeth like snow.

Never feeling blue, icing the heart line.

Not fishing for compliments,

She’s is the apple of my eye,

moonlight sparkling brighter than a gipsy.

     Fizzy sherbet centre heart,

Her love as snug as a bug in a rug,

Looking at her is like watching grass grow,

Eyes turn ice as I gaze.

Her skin so tender like a ripened peach,

Her eyes are sparkling diamonds.

Her long braided hair was a flowing golden river.

Our hearts playing hide and seek with the flowers as they buzzled from one another,

Looking like two stars dancing playfully in the moonlight sky.

The words appeared to leap off the paper as I tell her β€œI love you”,

Like the first rays of morning tiptoeing through the meadow,

She’s my shine.
