Strangers
I write your name to remind me of what we had, what we could have been,
Only to find tears smudging your name from the paper,
Like you smudged mine from your mind.
I know that things will never be the same,
And the more I think about it,
The more my heart breaks for you.
Itβs amazing when two strangers become the best of friends,
But itβs heartbreaking when the best of friends become two strangers.
I turn around to see the hour glass shatter,
The sands of never scattering around my feet,
And I realize that never is immeasurable,
And unbearable.
But I canβt help smile and cry at the same time,
I smile, because I think of your beauty,
I cry, because now I have to live through never,
And I know that thatβs too long to live without you.
Guardian Angel
My emotions would flood if you died today,
My soul would fall apart,
Grieving tears would forever fill,
The torn pages of my heart,
My cries would drown all hope and grace,
Knowing that you've gone,
You left me here without a trace,
My life might not live on.
But every person, loved or not, has an angel with them forever,
Chained by love we walk the earth,
Until death brings us together.
Forgotten
I think of you as something,
Something that cannot be read,
You're like a book without its cover,
Blank white pages there instead.
Now I'm dragged into your story,
As a Princess in disguise,
But you, the Prince, forgot to save me,
Now I wait here, 'till I die.
But I will not be held a prisoner,
In some long forgotten place,
My hearts unstitched away from yours,
It is I who hold the ace.
