Alone

Alone in the night.
The still air is filled with the sound of silence.
The lights of the city are gone
So bright and so wrong
In the night there is nothing to harm me.

 Alone in my room.
A lamp flickers, a computer hums a solemn tune.
I sit lost in thought
What's this life I've wrought?
In my room there is no one to disturb me.

 Alone in my head.
Wandering in a barren fromless landscape.
But it's mine, mine alone
The only place I call home
In my mind the world can't see me.
