when the day comes
that he is taken away
and we have lasted with each other till then
I will thank the stars
for finally letting me have something good.

Fairy Tale

Deep in the forest
Where the wood Nymphs roam
Where a pixies mischief is unmatched,
there lay a dark tower
inside was trapped a girl
her tears unseen
her screams unheard
outside the towers was beautiful
inside the walls were cracked
the floors crumbling
and the curtains torn.
The girl was dirty
nothing was as it seemed
from the outside looking in.

Some would wander by
no door to enter
but a window to view.
Looking through they don't see ruins,
see the girl sobbing into her arms.
They see a princess flitting,
smiling and laughing
as though nothing in the world was wrong.
They would call out
she would turn, smile and wave
and they would leave
content with what they've seen.

Yet behind this charade
behind the magic that hid the truth
the girl wept and screamed
curled into a ball of pain.
She tried to cry out to those that passed
watching them smile at the facade presented
breaking more as she realized
that no one could see.

Then along came a prince
astounded at the beauty of the tower.
He looked through the window
saw the smiling princess
but something settled wrong within him.
Taking up his trusted sword
he struck the window,
the magic shattered
and inside he saw the dirty sobbing girl.

Stepping through the barricade into the truth
his motions were slow
non threatening and in the same comforting
as he wrapped his arms around her.
His words were gentle
kind and soothing
as he pulled her from that tower.
Now able to be seen
the prince helped her grow
he worked away her sadness
and soon the dirty girl
TRULY was a princess
smiling and laughing.

Winter Hour

Once a gaze with springs soft touch
with summers warmth in green iris's
a smile so sweet and crisp not evenfall could touch.

But now winter has set in those eyes
a chilling breeze has come alive
as winter settles in the night.

Lips curve to smile like a winters wind
cold and chilling unto the end.
And green eyes set with a frozen glare
so much ice a bench would bend and break.

The winter settles but it's contained
with chains and jackets it's kept away
to do no more harm than it has done
to no longer hurt anyone.

And as the days go on and on
the winter chill becomes undone.
The softness of spring begins to show
yet all too late winter has one last show.

By chains it's dragged from its containment
forced to sit before a crowd
the winds they blast with one last strength
one last try
before winter officially goes away.

The final show now given
the drug it sets in
the freezing winter finally gone
but not before it comes undone
and started to show a gaze with springs soft touch
with summers warmth in green iris's
and then too little too late
the chilling winter has gone away.

Her World

Darkness had engulfed her world
she had not seen a light in years
locked way in her own mind
run by her fears.

Dark circles deepened
underneath dull eyes of brown
she had lost all hope of freedom
and so she waits to die.

Once long ago she had a light
that warmed her to the core
it pushed away the darkness
protected her evermore.

But that light how it faded
until abandoned her it did
so now she sits in the darkness
waiting for death to take her in.

But slowly a light appears
though different from the last
it pushes away all signs of darkness
its light a hot ember to her skin.

She finds herself floating
giving in and wanting
the light engulfs her very being
and she begins to mend.

The circles disappear
from 'neath her eyes
the dull brown Iris's
turn to liquid bark and shine.

Her skin once pale
now a soft tan
finally the light caressed her very being
as she was held in the arms of a man.

This man he made her life complete
became her light when she's in need
she smiled more happily
more willingly and finally she realized
her life was no longer a dream.

When He Brings You Up

When with one word from his lips,
you find yourself smiling,
you know he is the one for you.

When with a single touch,
you find yourself falling,
you know that it is true.

When he brings you up,
instead of pushing you down,
when he does all he can,
to make a bad day turn around,
when he works so hard,
to make you happy as can be,
you know that this is meant to be.

When without trying,
he knows what you are thinking,
when he knows without asking,
that you are angry or sad,
when he will sit there,
and listen to you cry,
you know he is perfect beyond a dream.

That is how I know
he is the one meant for me.

Monster in the skin

Annoyances turn to anger
anger turns to madness
and monsters come through the skin
their beauty disguised by scales
that rots away at the ends.

Nothing can chain the monster
once it is let loose
nothing can calm the anger
once it is given speech.

Nails drag the ground
claw like evils
blades of horrid dreams
they scratch and claw
at those around them.

The person as the monster comes
grows teeth as sharp as razors
they gnaw and gnash
and move in fierce rhythm.

Now the eyes
how they do bleed
as everything turns red.
Now the monster is let loose
nothing can survive its path.

Once the monster has returned
the scales leave the skin
beauty is once more shown
but the damage has been done
the world that was made
has turned to ruins
in the matter of a day

Seasonal Aging

At first comes spring with baby leaves
just waking up to give new trees.
Then slowly as the days move on
it grows to bloom before the seasons gone.

Then into summer the season goes
where fun and laughter comes with the suns brilliant glow.
The blooming flowers mature with the days
bringing forth beauty with their age.

Now into fall the season of beauty and work
with the plants slowly aging
and leaves falling from the comfort of their home
settling down to grow
and make a family of their own.

Then finally to winter
the aging process coming to a stop.
As the cold sets in the plants do die
though unto their death comes new life.
As winter turns back into spring
the deaths bring life among the aging seasons.

My wall

What life is there to live
If you have no one to live for?

What can you do but break
if no one is there to hold you together.

What can you do but plummet
if there is no wall to keep you up.

My wall had left,
I was breaking with each step,
I had no life to live.

But out of the blue
you came to me
sending me messages
lifting me up.

I found a wall
though still unsteady
yet I haven't found a life.

But slowly as we talk
I stop breaking
and a new life is reforming
my smile returning.

I'm having a better outlook
a better life.
I'm not as angry
and I’m not as sad.

This my friend is because of you
who has become my wall
and my shoulder to lean on.

Live, Love, Laugh

People live
People laugh
And people love
Live, laugh, love.

Live, Laugh, Love
As the world would have it
As the world would want it.

Live, Laugh, Grow
From baby to child
Child to teen
And teen to adult.

Live, Laugh, Believe
In all that you can be
In all that you can do
And can see.

Live, Laugh, Care
For those that you hold dear
Let nothing stand between
Don’t let whispers reach your ear.

Live, Laugh, Listen
To those who care,
Who understand
And wish to help you through.

Live, Laugh, Learn
From teachers and parents
Students and friends
Lovers and boyfriends.

Live, Laugh, Love
This is the only thing
A person can do
In a world
Where everything can be cruel.

With Your Last Breath

He came upon me,
Gun held high,
the mist that swirls,
covers his thigh,
where I am sure,
is strapped a knife.

You reach out to him,
calming in your gesture,
try to convince,
him to put it down.
But with wild eyes,
as sirens ring,
he shoots the gun,
you dive.

So I sit with you,
in the mist,
nothing left,
for you to miss.

With my hand in yours,
squeezing tight as your skin grows cold,
I feel your grip loosen,
as the darkness begins to take hold.

Tears fill my eyes,
as your lips move,
I lean close,
To listen.

"I'll wait for you,
at the white gates,
don't rush to see me,
because you will one day
I’ll refuse entry
'till you are there,
to walk with me,
to the other life,
where happiness awaits."
you say with you last breath,
a final good bye.

I can't help,
but let the tears fall,
as your hand falls from mine.
Your chest no longer moves,
Your eyes stare vacant at the wall,
As the sirens grow closer,
I begin to realize,
we never got a chance to love at all.

Unseen, Unheard, Untouched

I walk the earth,
Unseen,
I speak to others,
Unheard,
I stand in front
They pass right through me,
Untouched

Unseen,
Unheard,
Untouched,
I am nobody,
In a world of somebody’s.
I am nothing,
In a world of something,

Unheard,
Unseen,
Untouched.
I am the wind,
Flowing never touching,
Whispering never speaking,
Passing never seen.

Lost In the Desert

Dressed in the desert colors
his military cap on his head
lost among the weeds and sand
he'd been out there for days on end.

The only thing that kept him going
the only thing that kept him alive
was the fact that his family is waiting
hoping for him to come home.

He knew they already counted him as MIA
he knew that they were looking
that if he didn't find his way
soon he'd just be considered dead.

But he kept walking
searching and praying
hoping for a place to rest.

His supplies were running low
his food becoming scarcer by the day
his water had very little left.

A few times he had hallucinated he knew
seeing a Oasis
his family in the distance.

And when he heard the voices he was sure
that once more he considered it his mind
he considered it a hallucination.

But when the plane flew overhead
the trucks came his way
he stopped and fell to his knees
realizing this may not be a dream.

The trucks they stopped the men jumped out
his friends ran to his side and hauled into the truck
and then they were leaving he was going home
